Hello Everyone!!

We are back with some lovely cards made from Kaisercraft products in a kit from Paper Flourish.  Everything provided except some bling, flowers, foliage and butterflies I added from my stash.  Papers (6 1/2 x 6 1/2 pad), collectables, card and envelopes and bling were all in the kit as well as 6 designs for inspiration.

Teddy and I made 10 cards with lots of collectable pieces and we lined the envelopes TA-DAH!!! Still there were lots of collectables, the pearls and some papers left over as well as lots of off cuts that we used to punch out a heap of butterflies and other punchies for the little kids at child care to play with.

So let’s have a look at them, shall we??  Teddy is so proud of his work on these.

These were fun to make, taking me out of my comfort zone.  Very different to what I usually do in my not using very much by way of designer paper, Teddy might have to get more of these kits, or even other ones to see how we go with them.

Thanks for calling in, hope you like what you see.

Hello Everybody!!!

Lauren and Teddy up today!!!!  Oh we just love sun-filled Winter Days!!! At the moment we are getting mega fogs in the morning and that fog burns off to be such a sunny day, we open the blinds and let the warmth come inside.  When it is like that I love to craft and Teddy and I have been doing a bit of that lately for you!!!

So we thought we would show you a couple of cards we have made for you 🙂

Oh today we have used one of the A2Z Scraplets Stencils Pebblestones – Stencilets & Masklets on the background with CM Metallic Silver, and sprinkled with Embossing Powder (Adirondak Wild Plum) and then heated.  I love this result.  Also used a recent release Decorative 9 Corner Set of 2 and painted it with Viva Inka Gold, so shiny, so beautiful, so vibrant.  You could use a paste or spray from the Colour Blast range in store.

Handmade flowers by me using the EK Success Flower punch in Whale and Medium size.  Tutorial here to make the flowers.

The second card we have for you has used those fabulous words for cards that A2Z Scraplets have available.  I love them.  Handmade holes around the edge of the card, but no stitching in it.

Lots of dies, a stamp and I love those little rosettes that I have used a scoreboard to make, then decorated with charms, flowers and pearls to match my card. Leaves are painted with Glimmer Glaze.

Love that leaf die, it is by Crafty Ann and not sure whether Cheery Lyn have picked it up since they took over.

So proud of ourselves with this one!!  You know I like to recycle, well I have recycled the ‘outer’ of the Star Set of 2 Flourish, so 3 cards out of this chippie, how clever is that.  We have coated it with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder. Went with  purple glitter paper behind it, as I found some leftover star shapes in my diecut box.

This close up gives you an idea of how dimensional and textured this card is.  I love it!!!

Thanks for calling in, have fun papercrafting and get your hands messy with mediums!!!

Love Lauren xxxx

Hello Everybody,
Yes you have Lauren and Teddy on the blog today and the weather has turned to Winter for our Birthday month (yes you can send pressies to us) 🙂

So here we have a couple of cards for you, very pretty ones with flowers and things on them.

This one has used one of the A2Z Scraplets Umbrellas with Stampendous Embossing Powder, Shabby White then stamped with a script stamp with StazOn Ink and reheated to smudge it a bit.

All the usual embellishments from me, seam binding, lace, flowers and pearls.

The second card is all frills and things as well.

We started with a template and green for the new Leafy Template, then a doily die, the lace and ribbon.

The brickwall is painted with white.  the butterfly swirls is coloured with Tombo Dual Tipped Pens and then coated with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint, Rock Candy.  I love the crackle look.

Flowers were added and some stamen pieces and the word gorgeous was painted black and coated with Glossy Accents.

For those of you who have not met Teddy, here he is scrapbooking with friends 🙂  He is my sidekick and mentor and keeps me crafting on 🙂

Hugs from Teddy and Lauren

Nice and Simple

Hello Everyone,

The days are getting cooler and the trees are starting to turn, I must get some photos of autumn colour this year, there are some glorious reds around and I love them.

So I made a card, not red, but very pretty.

SANY2985

Nice and simple, easy to make card, with an embossed background, a ribbon cut in gingham, a sentiment sideways, I remembered to do that this time and a couple of new look flowers and those gorgeous butterflies.  So simple, quick and easy.

Hello Everyone,

Beautiful Friday here, sunny with a nice breeze but will turn a bit warm later.

So I made a couple of cards for you.  I saw a card with a window on a brick wall with lots of foliage in a window box and it was just so stunning, I thought that would work in white or cream and be a wonderful Christmas card, or a Wedding card,  so here is my efforts, both similar.

SANY2798

T this one was my first efforet with an embossed and inked background with a smaller window, lots of foliage and ivy corners.  Yes I was very happy with this, but knew I could do better 😉

SANY2799

So here we have the cream of the crop.  Six inch square card, witha larger window and the brickwork made from the cut out pieces from the window (how clever is that), same ivy corners, same but more of the foliage, and I think this one is the Wedding card I have been searching for.

Thanks for calling in, hope you have a great day

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope your day has been  fantastic, I love Thursdays because it is really Friday for me and I get a long weekend every weekend, so I had my Friday Face on today since about 10am, because I finish work about 10.30am.  How spoilt am I??

So I spend the afternoon reading a book, cooking dinner and taking a photograph that I should have taken yesterday because my  beautiful little gardenia is flowering like crazy and yesterday the blooms were perfect, but today some were starting to get a bit jaded.

This is Gardenia ‘Golden Magic’ and although it has single white flowers they turn yellow with age.  It really is very pretty and flowers very profusely!!  This shrub is around 3 feet wide and 3 feet high.

So I have a card to show you with very different yellow/orange flowers on it.

This card was made for a challenge on ways to use it – woven ribbon.  So I used a piece of lace with eyelets on one side of it and threaded my piece of ribbon through.  Next to that I have ruffled ribbon and then decorated with flowers and leaves.  These items were all placed on a PATP panel that had been inked.  This panel was given to me by my friend Lisa at Crafting Cottage

The little daisy flowers were some I got ages ago, they are mulberry paper and I love them.  The larger daisy is made by me with a MFT Die Plentiful Petals.

I love the double bow made from organza ribbon.  The butterflies and the sentiment panel are embellished with liquid pearls.

Hope you like this.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

How is your weekend going to shape up?  Mine is going to be fairly round I think, a round of craft, a round of housework (dirty word), a round of gardening and a round of reading.  Yep that sounds about the size of it, bit fat circles I will be running in.

So how do you like this spiney little fella??? He is an Echidna (Porcupine) and we see him a lot around here, he plays in the garden, walks across the grass and does not seem to be bothered by anyone.  If he is he just rolls himself into a little ball with all his spines out to protect his soft parts and just lays there until the danger goes away.

So thinking about him I took the time to make a card between trying to tidy the craft room.  Didn’t get far with that, I keep finding cool stuff to play with.

This is a simple card on a white A6 base with a  pink PATP.  I did not measure this, haha, and just punched, but it didn’t line up, but you use your mistakes don’t you?  Well I did.  A doily layered and some colourful ricrak, sp.??.

I stamped the sentiment with a Penny Black stamp and used a die cut from Quickcutz.  Decorated the cake with the flower punch outs from the border punch.

When I first got this die, it would not cut cleanly and I used a shim, another shim and another and thought oh boy I am going to bust my BigShot on this.  😦 Bummer my first die that would not work at all for me, it was just hopeless…..  I did not get around to sending it back and was going to bin it……. But I thought, I am going to take the ejection foam off it and see how bad this is made and write to the manufacturer and complain.

Well slap my thighs and call me Dusty, there was nothing wrong with it, cuts perfectly without the foam.  🙂  I looked at the foam carefully.  It seems to have a plastic coating on the die side of it… yep you guessed it, I cannot even cut it properly with scissors….

So I gave it some brand new foam  and Ta-Dah!!! Works like new!! Perfect cutting.  Lauren you are my hero, good girl!!  Gotta love it when you fix it yourself!! 😀

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

Well it really was a beautiful day and going to be a warm weekend with westerly winds bringing heat from the centre.  So dry and things need water so badly, might even need water in the tank very soon…. just going day to day with that.

Can you all do a rain dance for us please, really wanting some rain.

I just wanted to show you another resident here, he lives under the AC unit and in the garden around the tank, perfect hiding places for him.  He is only about 15inches long and grown slowly.

He is a blue tongue lizard and I love that he comes to the back door of the shed to get the mid morning sun.  I have been talking to him every sunny day while working next to the door….. telling him not to come in to join me….

So again I made a card, no it was not inspired by the bluey, it was inspired by a pinkie I think by the looks of it.
So what do you think of this one?

A bit of sewing on this one, how clever am I that I remembered the sewing machine was on the table at the end of my work table.  Yes I have a sewing table in my room now….

Just a scrap piece of pink woodgrain paper from Kaszazz, a border punched piece, an embossed scrap and then sewn around and across the scrap pieces.

Oh Oh and those brads were …. gold…ordinary old paper fasteners from the newsagents or the office supply place (cheap) and I heated the top (hold in tweezers to save your fingers) and dipped the hot top into embossing power and reheated, how simple and I can have good looking brads in whatever colour EP I have.  I might have to try DP and clear powder too, that would be pretty.

Ok, then a die (MB Quinn Flourish) topped with mulberry flowers that have been inked in pink.  Some thread and a button.

Finished with 3 tiny buttons and a sentiment on a ribbon cut.  Gotta love the easy ones.

No I have not given up ribbon and pearls, just taking some other items for a little outing.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought I would give you something a bit different and put to you a Double page scrap layout with photos of my adult neice and nephew when they were children.  I hope they forgive me. 🙂

Sometimes older photos given by family to an aunt are not the best for anything, but I am happy with the result of this.  And of course I did my usual flower and bling stuff with it!!

Both pages were started with Bazzill Canvas Fawn, sponge inked around the edge and textured with an aging stamp cube and the word frinds. An 8×8 panel in Bazzill Canvas Vanilla, stamped with background stamps around the edge in placed in the centre of both pages.  Designer paper is torn, inked and rolled to give that burned appearance.

Photos cropped and placed, then the title tiles on both pages and then the flowers and bling till done.  Oh yes the ribbon too.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for calling in, hope you day is going great.
Hugs 🙂
