Hello Everybody!!!

Lauren and Teddy up today!!!!  Oh we just love sun-filled Winter Days!!! At the moment we are getting mega fogs in the morning and that fog burns off to be such a sunny day, we open the blinds and let the warmth come inside.  When it is like that I love to craft and Teddy and I have been doing a bit of that lately for you!!!

So we thought we would show you a couple of cards we have made for you 🙂

Oh today we have used one of the A2Z Scraplets Stencils Pebblestones – Stencilets & Masklets on the background with CM Metallic Silver, and sprinkled with Embossing Powder (Adirondak Wild Plum) and then heated.  I love this result.  Also used a recent release Decorative 9 Corner Set of 2 and painted it with Viva Inka Gold, so shiny, so beautiful, so vibrant.  You could use a paste or spray from the Colour Blast range in store.

Handmade flowers by me using the EK Success Flower punch in Whale and Medium size.  Tutorial here to make the flowers.

The second card we have for you has used those fabulous words for cards that A2Z Scraplets have available.  I love them.  Handmade holes around the edge of the card, but no stitching in it.

Lots of dies, a stamp and I love those little rosettes that I have used a scoreboard to make, then decorated with charms, flowers and pearls to match my card. Leaves are painted with Glimmer Glaze.

Love that leaf die, it is by Crafty Ann and not sure whether Cheery Lyn have picked it up since they took over.

So proud of ourselves with this one!!  You know I like to recycle, well I have recycled the ‘outer’ of the Star Set of 2 Flourish, so 3 cards out of this chippie, how clever is that.  We have coated it with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder. Went with  purple glitter paper behind it, as I found some leftover star shapes in my diecut box.

This close up gives you an idea of how dimensional and textured this card is.  I love it!!!

Thanks for calling in, have fun papercrafting and get your hands messy with mediums!!!

Love Lauren xxxx

Hello Everybody,

What a wonderful Autumn day it is, cool morning, very nice mid 20’s through the day and a slight breeze and a bit of cloud.  Just my type of day.

So we have another of the A2Z Scraplets Easter Challenge Weekend cards today

On this card I have used a pretty designer paper and lightly sponged in pink all over and brown as an accent with the new Hexagon Stencil from A2Z Scraplets.  The A2Z Scraplets has been left left as is, the lovely black that it comes.  The gorgeous rickrack and flowers from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Everyone,

Only one week of November left, can you believe it??? Where did this year run off to???   All the shops are decorated, playing Christmas Carols and displaying all the Christmas goodies.  Well I might have to get off to have a look at all that soon, just to see what is out there for me.

So with that thought in mind I made a Christmas card or four.  Yes more than one, but not as many as five.  I am so funny.

So this card is just a simple one, with a white base, layered with red and then with embossed white.  A ribbon across to hang the stocking from and a Merry Christmas sentiment on a ribbon cut banner.

The stockings are made with the SU Stocking punch that I got last year from the pre-order and waited all year to use it…. joking, just didn’t get around to it.  The paper for the stockings was white and stamped to give me the perfect matching reds with different patterns.    The top of the stocking and the toe are plain white and covered in Ice Stickles Chrystal Ice.

Like I said very easy, simple and very pretty.  Great quick Christmas Cards.  These could be made in any colour and I might have to do that next year.  Blue I think.

Did  you ever notice that I am not a fan of patterned papers?  No I am not, I never seem to have the pattern in the shade I like.  I have a few I really like, some have been discontinued, (hate that) and I have heaps of paper that just never works for me.  I think I am a stamper or background maker, that way I get what I feel like at the time.  Pretty pathetic, eh??

Ok so I decided to show you  a photo of a gardenia, I have these growing around 3 sides of the BBQ area out the back, in the area shaded by a flame tree, magnolia and tibouchina.

Beautiful glossy green foliage, big white flowers that stay a few days before starting to discolour.  And the smell takes me back to my very early life in Liverpool where we had these on either side of the front steps and you could smell them everytime you went in or out of the house.  I loved them then, and I love them now.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

What a glorious day today was, around 24 degrees with a slight breeze to keep things a little cooler.  I know you say 24 is not hot, but I don’t like it much warmer than that and I can dream of perfect (my perfect) weather being here all the time.

So since it was so beautiful today I played in my craft room and surprise, surprise I made a card or two.  Yes and this one is special.

So how pretty is this in Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Blue Iris and Ice Jade?  Both have been DTP over the stencil to make the dots and splotches.  The netting has been added with a stamp from Lucy’s Stamps Netting.  Then the entire panel has be spritzed with Ranger Spray Pearls (Pearl). And I am so pleased with it, it is really pretty and fresh.

The inchies were stamped with a Stamp-It silhouette wildflower stamp and then punched out and bordered with blue gel pen and matted onto Bazzil Monochromatics Typhoon.

This is a little move away from the norm for me with a much simpler, less embellished card (no embellies at all!!).  And I am happy with the finished product.   I must be growing and developing somewhat!!

I also wanted to show you a photo I took the Summer before last when it was so so wet down the entire east coast of Australia and our bushland was so sodden and parts underwater most of the Summer.

How good is that, real fungus and heaps of them on a felled dead tree and real moss growing on it too…. this is a constant wet seaon result and is just beautful.  I have not seen much moss growing like this but I am so glad I found it.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Today I have a fun little card for you.  Over on SCS in the Alphabet Challenge someone challenged me to make a card using punched Underwear!!  Oh does the mind boggle.

So I made a nice little manikin modelling a nice little set of lace-edged bra, pants and garter.

This was really fairly easy to do, the manikin is die cut using the Sizzix Bigz Die Sewing Room, the underwear is punched with a circle punched and some pieces put onto paper and punched a second time.  The straps and garder are just hand cut.  The lace along the edges is scribbled with a gel pen.  I knew I had them for a reason.

The background of the card is run through an embossing folder (Sizzix Swirls) and the broder but with a Sizzlits border die.  The join is covered with the ribbon.  The shortfall in length is covered by the ribbon cut sentiment.  Bodacious is from Stamp-It Australia.

Cute and fits the bill, and I am sure I will find someone to send it to!!

Hope you like it!!

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

Just a quick post today, no nature shots 😦 , but I did make a card anyway!!! Hey how good is that!!

How cute is this?  So sweet.  A 5×5″ base card with a PATP panel punched with Martha Stewart PATP Deco Arches (my favourite), with DTP with Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink Pastel Blue.  The brads have been colour changed with Embossing Powder,  (I love that technique) and the little socks have been cut with the SU Christmas Stocking punch.

Easy and cute and so fitting for a lovely little baby boy.  I hope you like this as much as I do.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

Oh My the weather keeps changing here, today was a little cooler and overcast, but still a beautiful day.  My dear Keith keeps telling me about the huge blue-tongue lizard who visits him each afternoon while he is having a beer out the back.  Apparently Blue is a little wary so we think that Monty Python is lurking somewhere around.

But today, no reptiles for you, oh no, a pic of a cute cuddly Koala.  This was taken on a day last year when he scrambled up a tree out the front.  He was sitting up there for ages and he let us watch him.  I am so pleased I have a good zoom and heaps of pixels on my camera.  I love Picassa for cropping my pics. I am all for free software.

He looks a bit comfy, doesn’t he?  Bit lazy I be thinking, and he makes me want a nana nap like him too.  Ok enough of the nature stuff today, on with the reason we are here.

I made a card!!! WOW I hear you say, how does she do this, every day coming up with something new for our eyes to feast on.  Well really it is Toby my cat who makes me spend so much time in the craft room, he calls me to come sit with him…. and later in the day Miss Tessa calles me to bed.  These two babies run my home and organise me.

This is a Clean And Simple card for me (CAS), very unusual, but I do like butterflies and I love this Sizzix Embossing Folder.  This could be  a single layer card, A6 right side opening.  But you know me and I hate having anything of the design seen when the card is opened, so I did the embossing on a panel for the front.  I know…

The butterflies are punched onto white with an EK success medium punch and then inked with Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink Catseye pads on the wings and edges.  Then I have used Ranger Distress Ink Walnut Stain just along the out edge of the wings.  Next I have covered each butterfly with Glossy Accents (I am loving this stuff again) and when dry attached them to the card and finished them off with Liquid Pearls.

An easy card, but very pretty to look at.  It is a card that could be used for any occasion.  Simple, sweet and a quick one to put together.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

So much cooler today, almost back to Winter temperatures and the breeze is from the South!!  I cannot keep up with this, so not to worry, this is Spring and I think it is always like this.

Being Spring we have bunnies just a few weeks old.  Yes they are wild, not pets but they come close.  These photos were taken when I just walked up close to these little buggars eating grass shoots.  I think they will probably end up being Monty’s dinner at some stage.  That is life in the bush so don’t get attached to them.

They are only about 5 inches long, but they are so cute!!  Yes maybe they are Hares!!! No really they are bunnies.

So with babies in mind a made a little album for the memories of a friend of mine and her three little girls.  I used to do a lot of  looking after little Amy when she was a baby and the other two girls to help her mum out with three littlies at home.  They are always so happy as I remember them, so called it a happiness journal.

Look this is so beautiful it has floored Ted.  It is made from thin chipboard, cut with Spellbinders scalloped squares and inked in brown and green. Pockets and tags, loads of ribbon and flowers.  Front cover has 3 tags for journalling and tucked into a torn pocket made from cardstock coloured with shaving cream technique.  Some very pretty flowers and a clip, some ribbon and a slider.

First double page is a sentiment opposite a clear page through which a photo of Jessie is visible, giving a hint of what is to come.  I love the flowers on this, the punched, embossed and inked and the different shapes of flowers matted together.

Second double page, showing the clear page on the left and the photo of Jessie on  green and embellished with flowers and ribbon.  Stamping and the layered and embossed flowers and the ribbon give it all depth, as does the edging on the clear page.

This third double page opening has lovely Heidi as a flower, so beautiful.  More flowers, ricrac.  The little diamond fold embellishement on the second page opens up, but I forgot to take a photos.  Love the button on here too.

Fourth page has the little wild child Amy, check out that smile, she was always like this.  More flowers, ribbon and stamping.  And a sneak peek at the tags on the next page.

More trimming with the shaving cream card, flowers and edging of the clear page.  Tags in a pocket and a clip and more stamping.

The back cover is stamped with the lovely saying of Happiness, trimmed with ribbon.

The book is held together with a hinged ring embellished with tied ribbon to match that used in the book.

Hope you like it, I know I do, it is going in with my keepsakes.  Love these little girls.  Love their mum too.  🙂

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

Very warm day today, amazing we can have 29 today and the night before last it snowed on the mountains.  Dare I ask what is happening with snow in October?

Over the last several years our garden has really grown and established itself.  When we first came here we had lots of parrots and bigger birds and no small ones.  We planted lots of bushy shrubs like grevilleas and a few prickly leaf shrubs, lots of old fashioned Gardenias and loads of Clivias.  This has created a haven for little wrens, gorgeous blue headed babies, noisy twitterers and whistlers.  They are gorgous.

I do really like this SU bird punch with the branch and the wing for him, it is so cute and a perfect size for everything!!

So I made a card with the bird on it.  From this lovely little inspiration and because my friend Miss Lynn is hosting the feathered friends in the MIU Challenge over on SCS.

Yes it is a Masculine Card!! A base A6 card opening at the bottom with a smaller embossed panel leaving a 1cm white border.  The EF used is from SU and stamped with the large stamp from the SU Boroque Motifs set before embossing and then inked around the edge with Colorbox Fluid Chalk in Olive Pastel.

The Birthday Celebrations from SU is stamped on a strip that has been cut with a tag punch for the ends, edged with ink, slot holes punched and ribbon threaded and a knot to finish that.

Lots of foliage added and the bird has been edged with ink before being placed.  A pearl for his eye and some pearls on the sentiment strip.
Hope you like it.  Thanks for calling in, hope you have a great day!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,
Well what a wonderful lazy Saturday for me, I read most of my day with a nana nap thrown in for good measure.  The book I was reading was Lydia Fielding a book set in rural England in the 19th Century, almost a social diary of everyday life with some sordidness, a huge cast of characters, and everyday life passing by. Also like a social history, since it also covered some political issues such as caring for ‘fallen women’, educating poor children, and rights for women.  This is my type of book!!
So then I was late making my card for you.  A special one today for the Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS hosted my my friend Dawn Mercedes.

Dawn asked us to use the negative of a die cut or punch for our cards.  I had been hoarding this leaf negative for ages and never quite knew what to do with it, well it got me moving!!

I inked around my A6 Kraft card base.  Topped that with a DP vintage music sheet that has been distressed with a distressing tool and inked.  Then the same treatment to the green negative piece and put on at an angle.

I placed a Happy Birthday across the middle, it has the same treatment as the other pieces.  I had to think  about this and needed to know what to do next. So I thought maybe some leaves, so I did some fern leaves in the same as the base and inked them.  A couple of dragonflies, some buttons and some dimensional pearls.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for calling in, hope you have a great day, I will be off to bed now!!

Hugs 🙂
