Hello Everybody!!!

Lauren and Teddy up today!!!!  Oh we just love sun-filled Winter Days!!! At the moment we are getting mega fogs in the morning and that fog burns off to be such a sunny day, we open the blinds and let the warmth come inside.  When it is like that I love to craft and Teddy and I have been doing a bit of that lately for you!!!

So we thought we would show you a couple of cards we have made for you 🙂

Oh today we have used one of the A2Z Scraplets Stencils Pebblestones – Stencilets & Masklets on the background with CM Metallic Silver, and sprinkled with Embossing Powder (Adirondak Wild Plum) and then heated.  I love this result.  Also used a recent release Decorative 9 Corner Set of 2 and painted it with Viva Inka Gold, so shiny, so beautiful, so vibrant.  You could use a paste or spray from the Colour Blast range in store.

Handmade flowers by me using the EK Success Flower punch in Whale and Medium size.  Tutorial here to make the flowers.

The second card we have for you has used those fabulous words for cards that A2Z Scraplets have available.  I love them.  Handmade holes around the edge of the card, but no stitching in it.

Lots of dies, a stamp and I love those little rosettes that I have used a scoreboard to make, then decorated with charms, flowers and pearls to match my card. Leaves are painted with Glimmer Glaze.

Love that leaf die, it is by Crafty Ann and not sure whether Cheery Lyn have picked it up since they took over.

So proud of ourselves with this one!!  You know I like to recycle, well I have recycled the ‘outer’ of the Star Set of 2 Flourish, so 3 cards out of this chippie, how clever is that.  We have coated it with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder. Went with  purple glitter paper behind it, as I found some leftover star shapes in my diecut box.

This close up gives you an idea of how dimensional and textured this card is.  I love it!!!

Thanks for calling in, have fun papercrafting and get your hands messy with mediums!!!

Love Lauren xxxx

Well Hello Everybody!!!

Teddy and I played in the A2Z Easter Challenges on the weekend and it was fantastic, we crafted up a storm and made 9 cards, yes that’s right 9 cards, more than we have made in the last 3 months.  We had such an awesome time.

So we will show you the first one today:)

This card is 6″x5″ and the panel on the front is misted with a handmade pearl and ink solution. Kaisercraft Lacy Doily is laid on next and a double row of lace with seam binding over the top.  The A2Z Scraplets dressform is embossed with Stampendous Embossing Powder Shabby White for the dress bodice and white EP for the shoulders, the base is painted with Ranger Distress Paint Dusty Concord and the skirt made from lace and seam binding.  Stamp is from My Mind’s Eye set The Sweetest Thing.

This card will be entered into the White with One Challenge on the blog White…with 1

Teddy and I had such fun making this card, hope you like it 🙂

Hello Everyone,

I really am a little slack with my posting lately, have so little mojo and have searched everywhere for it, but to no avail, it is still missing.

So it took me a week to create this, or I should say it is the only thing I have created this week 🙂

But then I suppose it is very pretty.  I cannot believe that in all the months I have had the punch around the page punches, that I have not thought to make a frame of them, DUH!!

And it does make a perfect frame for the embossed/heat embossed background.  I have used a Craft Concepts Tuscan Tile EF with Ranger Distress Ink Victorian Velvet and then coated it with Versamark ink and embossed it a couple of times with clear EP to give a beautiful depth and a real tile look.  The edging is all done with a ink application tool from Ranger with the same ink.  Flower is cut from MFT die, Sizzix scroll and leaf/leaves.

Oh and I have coloured the brads with pink and then pearl EP… love doing that, never have the wrong colour embellishment this way.

This card is entered into the Twisted Tuesday Challenge this week, I for ink and Embossing Folder. 🙂

Thanks for looking in today, hope your day is going great!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

It is getting so cool and that wind is not only making it cooler but it is so noisy!! Makes me think Winter is not going to be so nice this year.  Not so sure I will like that, but Spring follows, so I can stay inside till then if needed 🙂

So I made a card, how good is that?

I have done a card before with a very similar design.  I love it, with the really nautical feel to it in a style that is so great as a really masculine card.  The main difference in this one to the other I made is I have put the string vertically and the charm at the top.

The charm is really a die cut in aluminium (Marianne Anchor) and then it is heated and dipped in silver embossing powder and then heated again to melt it evenly.  Sometimes it needs more than one dip and heat, and when done I have sponged it with StazOn Timber Brown.  I love using embossing powder on other items, it gives such fantastic results.

Well I hope you liked this one, Teddy will be back later in the week to spill his adventures.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick post today again, no chance to get any outdoor photos.  Have you heard or seen the storm damage on the north coast and southern Queensland.  I am hoping all my friends in the storm areas are staying safe. We would like rain, but not with the damage thank you!!  BTW we are nowhere near these bad storms.

So I stayed in my craft room and made a card or two.

So this is a bit bright and cheery, just to make up for all that rain. This card is made from scraps other than the white A5 base.  The left panel of the card is a strip I have left over from making a 5×5 card from an A4 sheet.  So I cut it the length I needed and coloured it with a felt ink applicator with Ranger Distress Ink Tattered Rose.  Then I used a stencil to colour with the Worn Lipstick.  When done, I dipped it into clear embossing powder and then heat set.  How cool is that?

I then made two scallop edge strips in white and added a pink ribbon to one and then layered the other on it.  Attached them tot he card and then added the inked panel.  Just a little different for me, but I do like to use scaps, and try my hand at brighter colours than usual.

The flower is cut with a Sizzix Bigz die Tattered Florals, the petals curled down and then big bling with a pink circle below it.  These blings are clear so they can be coloured to match the project.  I like that idea.

The sentiment is a great one for friendship and is from Stamp-It Australia.  This I have cut with my label die.

Hope you like it.  I will post again tomorrow, maybe something completely different, who knows?

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

Bit warm today, too warm for me to be outside too long.  It is still much cooler inside and I hope it stays this way, I am not fond of the fluid that heat gives me. 😦  Haha you didn’t know I could winge did you??

We will leave that there and take a look at what nature put up for us today.  This is a skink, he is about 12 inches long and moves so so fast.  He is streamlined and very shiny.  Lovely lizard.

He has yellow stripes down his sides runnimg from behind the eyes to about halfway down the body.  Racing stripes maybe. 🙂

So I went and made a care with the SU set Inspired by Nature, how clever is that?

Oh my, this is done with a Faux Tile technique.  I cut the piece to the size I wanted and used a PATP to get the decorative border.  Then I scored the lines on it.  Then stamped the image, making sure not to press to heavily so that the scorelines remained ink free.

When the stamping was dry, I covered the entire panel with Versamark Ink and then dipped it into clear embossing powder to get a good coverage and then heated it. 🙂

It is shiny and really does look like a tiled surface.  Who would have thought?

I finished the card with a black trim piece along the bottom and a sentiment panel and a little butterfly.

Today I spent quite a while in the craftroom and finished some other projects and a card made especially for my friend Lisa who sent me a dress form stamp, but she is not checking the internet at present, so I will keep it until I know she will be online.  Gotta love our Crafting Cottage lady.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)
