Hello Everybody!!!

Lauren and Teddy up today!!!!  Oh we just love sun-filled Winter Days!!! At the moment we are getting mega fogs in the morning and that fog burns off to be such a sunny day, we open the blinds and let the warmth come inside.  When it is like that I love to craft and Teddy and I have been doing a bit of that lately for you!!!

So we thought we would show you a couple of cards we have made for you 🙂

Oh today we have used one of the A2Z Scraplets Stencils Pebblestones – Stencilets & Masklets on the background with CM Metallic Silver, and sprinkled with Embossing Powder (Adirondak Wild Plum) and then heated.  I love this result.  Also used a recent release Decorative 9 Corner Set of 2 and painted it with Viva Inka Gold, so shiny, so beautiful, so vibrant.  You could use a paste or spray from the Colour Blast range in store.

Handmade flowers by me using the EK Success Flower punch in Whale and Medium size.  Tutorial here to make the flowers.

The second card we have for you has used those fabulous words for cards that A2Z Scraplets have available.  I love them.  Handmade holes around the edge of the card, but no stitching in it.

Lots of dies, a stamp and I love those little rosettes that I have used a scoreboard to make, then decorated with charms, flowers and pearls to match my card. Leaves are painted with Glimmer Glaze.

Love that leaf die, it is by Crafty Ann and not sure whether Cheery Lyn have picked it up since they took over.

So proud of ourselves with this one!!  You know I like to recycle, well I have recycled the ‘outer’ of the Star Set of 2 Flourish, so 3 cards out of this chippie, how clever is that.  We have coated it with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder. Went with  purple glitter paper behind it, as I found some leftover star shapes in my diecut box.

This close up gives you an idea of how dimensional and textured this card is.  I love it!!!

Thanks for calling in, have fun papercrafting and get your hands messy with mediums!!!

Love Lauren xxxx

Hello Everyone,

Just for fun I am using up a lot of my scraps and this card is an example of that.  You know that I like to layer my cards and (almost) never make a card of a single layer, I like my cards to be a bit sturdier than that.

So this is really just a simple card with die cut edged pieces of scrap in two different types of cardstock in cream.  A sentiment embossed in gold and a lace flower.

Hope you like it!!

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

Just a quick post today, no nature shots 😦 , but I did make a card anyway!!! Hey how good is that!!

How cute is this?  So sweet.  A 5×5″ base card with a PATP panel punched with Martha Stewart PATP Deco Arches (my favourite), with DTP with Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink Pastel Blue.  The brads have been colour changed with Embossing Powder,  (I love that technique) and the little socks have been cut with the SU Christmas Stocking punch.

Easy and cute and so fitting for a lovely little baby boy.  I hope you like this as much as I do.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

Warm day today, so they tell me, I did not notice really, I spent some time in the craft room and that is like being in a world of its own with its own microclimate.  Much cooler at that end of the house, I hope it stays that way for a while.

These are two of the Azaleas along the front of the house, not this year, they are a bit mite eaten with the dry this year.  This photo is several years old.  When I look out of the craft room windows this is the view I get in Autumn and Spring, the rest of the year it is greenery and lovely too.

So with a view like that, I made a card, so you say well this is a surpise!!

I see so many great silhouette stamps out there and I think I really cannot justify getting any more, since I want some arty/background ones as well.  So I saw a tip somewhere on my rounds of the Blogs out there, it was a detail stamp that had been coloured in BLACK!!! How cool is that.  Well I thought I would cut her out when coloured and layere her on a doily/paper panel/punched panel.

In doing this I scanned the image on a high dpi (or whatever!!) and made a GSD file from her so that I can cut her on my Wishblade whenever I feel like it, no more colouring and fiddling.

Ok so I also put some pink lace and ribbon down the card and some Spellbinders Floral Flourishes in black and a sentiment panel with a beautiful saying from Lucy’s Stamps. The Rose is handmade by me from EK Success retro flower punch medium.

I have inked around the PATP deco arches with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and finished off with a bow and some liquid pearls.

The stamp I used for the silhouette is a detailed one from Stamp-It Australia called To the Races.

Hope you like this idea for silhouettes, I love it when I can new ideas for old stamps and other tools.  It is like having something all brand new again.

Today I watched a DVD, The Green Mile with Tom Hanks, what a wonderful movie.  Seen it several times and love some of the sayings in it.  Also watched a movie on TV last night, When In Rome, so very funny, and I shaped some roses while I watched it.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going great.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Today I had a crafting session with my friend Lisa (on Skype of course) and boy can that woman pump the cards out, while I tend to fiddle around and try this, try that and put extra things on my cards.  Am I really such a time waster?? No I think not, but I sure know how to enjoy the journey to the destination of a finished card.

Well I have a pic of a Goanna climbing a tree, he is beautiful, but I don’t like to get too close, thank heavens for zoom!!!

He is gorgeous, isn’t he??? Well I think not, I am not a reptile person, they give me the cold shivers.  But they live here too, so I don’t go looking for them usually, but I rarely leave the house these days to go anywhere around home without the camera in tow.

This is my favourite type of card, being 5×5 inches with a panel on the front.  I have tried a double punch border on this and if you look closely you will see on the area to the right of the ribbon, I have done a PATP and inked it in pink, and on the three corners I have punched the corners in about an inch from the border.  I love new techniques.

The top left of the card is stamped with SU Boroque Motifs big swirl and I have embellished this area with the sentiment banner, a butterfly and three brads that have been coloured pink with embossing powder.

The ribbon satin edged organza ribbon has been ruffled and finished with a double bow.

The area to the right of the ribbon has been embellished with die cuts, branches and some chipboard, a daisy and a little butterfly.  I am liking the pink and green colours.  I really am not a fashion or craze type of girl, I just put together what is pleasing to me.

Well I hope you like these offerings today.

Today I also watched a movie, love having movies on in the craft room as it lets me do two of my favourite passtimes at the same time.  So today it was  a Sandra Bullock movie called ’28 Days’ and it is a real scream, so funny.  Let me know if you want me to tell you about it.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going great.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope your day has been  fantastic, I love Thursdays because it is really Friday for me and I get a long weekend every weekend, so I had my Friday Face on today since about 10am, because I finish work about 10.30am.  How spoilt am I??

So I spend the afternoon reading a book, cooking dinner and taking a photograph that I should have taken yesterday because my  beautiful little gardenia is flowering like crazy and yesterday the blooms were perfect, but today some were starting to get a bit jaded.

This is Gardenia ‘Golden Magic’ and although it has single white flowers they turn yellow with age.  It really is very pretty and flowers very profusely!!  This shrub is around 3 feet wide and 3 feet high.

So I have a card to show you with very different yellow/orange flowers on it.

This card was made for a challenge on ways to use it – woven ribbon.  So I used a piece of lace with eyelets on one side of it and threaded my piece of ribbon through.  Next to that I have ruffled ribbon and then decorated with flowers and leaves.  These items were all placed on a PATP panel that had been inked.  This panel was given to me by my friend Lisa at Crafting Cottage

The little daisy flowers were some I got ages ago, they are mulberry paper and I love them.  The larger daisy is made by me with a MFT Die Plentiful Petals.

I love the double bow made from organza ribbon.  The butterflies and the sentiment panel are embellished with liquid pearls.

Hope you like this.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

Bit warm today, too warm for me to be outside too long.  It is still much cooler inside and I hope it stays this way, I am not fond of the fluid that heat gives me. 😦  Haha you didn’t know I could winge did you??

We will leave that there and take a look at what nature put up for us today.  This is a skink, he is about 12 inches long and moves so so fast.  He is streamlined and very shiny.  Lovely lizard.

He has yellow stripes down his sides runnimg from behind the eyes to about halfway down the body.  Racing stripes maybe. 🙂

So I went and made a care with the SU set Inspired by Nature, how clever is that?

Oh my, this is done with a Faux Tile technique.  I cut the piece to the size I wanted and used a PATP to get the decorative border.  Then I scored the lines on it.  Then stamped the image, making sure not to press to heavily so that the scorelines remained ink free.

When the stamping was dry, I covered the entire panel with Versamark Ink and then dipped it into clear embossing powder to get a good coverage and then heated it. 🙂

It is shiny and really does look like a tiled surface.  Who would have thought?

I finished the card with a black trim piece along the bottom and a sentiment panel and a little butterfly.

Today I spent quite a while in the craftroom and finished some other projects and a card made especially for my friend Lisa who sent me a dress form stamp, but she is not checking the internet at present, so I will keep it until I know she will be online.  Gotta love our Crafting Cottage lady.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)
