Hello Everyone,

Well it is Movember and time to get your mo on and use your ‘stache’ to get everyone aware of men’s health and have a little fun!!

So I did that and here we have it!!

SANY2851

Gotta love the little owl it is a die from Marianne Creatables, he is so cute and one of the very rare occasions that I would use stickers!!! Yes stickers for the wording!! The Branch is a Memory Box die.

SANY2848

Gotta be loving this man, all pieced from cardstock to give the card a cute face with a mo of course!!  Happy Birthday from SU.

SANY2852

And lastly a cutie in a standard layout with borders, stripes, mo’s and string.  Stamp by Penny Black.  All Mustaches are from a die from Memory Box.

I am loving this die and have loads of ideas for him, but no time to put them into action.

Hope you like these, have a great day and thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mummies out there, to all those mummies in waiting and especially to all those mummies who have lost a child, special hugs to you.  And a special mention to all those children or adults who have lost their mum.  Hope you all had a great day!!!

So I made a card with a little party dress for all of you!!!

SANY1869

Teddy loves that dress and has put his order in for one just the same for later in the year.  Love you Ted.

The top of the dress is cut with the Dress Form Bigz Die from Sizzix and the neckline and armholes are cut with a circle punch.  The skirt is pink lace in layers and the waistband is ribbon to hide the top of the lace 🙂

And look at those gorgeous shoes hanging on the doily.  Every dress deserves a lovely pair of heels to go with it!!

The little coathanger is made from a papeclip, perfect size with most of the bends already put in place. 🙂

Hope you like it, thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Gorgeous Autumn day here, sunny, beautiful and nice and warm (24 degrees), and tomorrow is going to be around the same.  So I went off to visit a friend of mine, it has been way too long, life keeps happening.  And of course her two girls who just make me feel so special, it is like and an adopted gran to them.

I am fairly hopeless and have been making and thinking about these journals for the girls for a long long time.  The one for Beth was easy, she loves ballet, pink and purple and cats.  So I made her journal with those things, so easy for me.  Charms, die cuts and fun.

journal for Beth

The round charm tied to the spine says ‘love to the moon and stars’ and that about sums up how I feel about this girl.  She is no pushover, but is so very special.  Love her to bits.  Inside the journal is random stamping on various pages and an envelope with goodies and for storing bits and pieces for journalling or sticking in later.  Almost like a hand made smash journal.  I hope to see her arty adventures later in the year.

Now my little friend Sarah, who is 9 (almost) going on 29, she is so talented and intelligent, she is far more mature than I am, and I find it scary that she might figure this out.  She loves green and dragons.  She is incredibly creative and imaginative and can turn an idea into reality with no apparent problems at all.  Whereas I dither and over think things, I agonised for weeks on what do do about the dragon on this journal.  Eventually settling on this.

And you know she loved him.  She drew him in the journal quicker than you would believe.  I do love punchart or paper piecing, love the intricacy of it, the cleverness.  I am so pleased the girls liked their journals.

Now today I have a couple of My Minds Eye stamp sets to do a bit of practice with, so that I can challenge Lisa with them.  We love having stamps in common to have these little competitions. 🙂

Thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Special kind of day today, so to celebrate this I have made a card with a chevron on it, something I have been dreaming of for a long long time.  I must admit that as much as I would love to keep up with everything new and have all the latest fashions in my craftroom, I do have to slow myself a little and reinvent things I already have to make them the latest you beaut thing.

SANY1838

Chevrons are all the go this year, and I do not have a stamp or an embossing folder or a die (unless you count ricrak) and I really love them, but I wanted doilies and dolls instead.  So I did have a punch by Carl called building blocks that was like a photo corner.  So here is what I did. 😉

I stamped some solid hearts with polka dots on them onto white cardstock in different bright colours and then punched out 5 of each colour with the punch.  So far so good.  Then I built my chevron panel on my base card.  Yes it was fiddly, but you know I love the journey, so it was well worth it for me.

When assembled and adhered down, I stamped some silhouette flower on it, added the sentiment  and a butterfly.  Exactly what I thought it would be and I just love it.

Hope you like it, maybe you will try something like it too!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Some time back I started collecting the dress-up doll and clothes from Quickutz.  I just think they are the cutest things going.  Gotta say I love them.

So I made this card for a little friend of mine, it is not one that was on my wish list, but I bought it because I find I have a rocker starring among my friends 🙂

SANY1809

Even Teddy is getting in on the act, with his new guitar, gotta love that boy.  The background is meant to be a stage area showing the rising star!.  She is a cutie, yes?

Have a great day, see you again tomorrow!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone!!

Just a quick post today, no nature shots 😦 , but I did make a card anyway!!! Hey how good is that!!

How cute is this?  So sweet.  A 5×5″ base card with a PATP panel punched with Martha Stewart PATP Deco Arches (my favourite), with DTP with Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink Pastel Blue.  The brads have been colour changed with Embossing Powder,  (I love that technique) and the little socks have been cut with the SU Christmas Stocking punch.

Easy and cute and so fitting for a lovely little baby boy.  I hope you like this as much as I do.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!

What an overcast day! Overcast and no rain in sight, sad because it is so dry.  It is going to be humid over the next few days as the weather warms up a bit and maybe some rain then, so start thinking it in for us please!!

Well well what a photo I have for you today, no not a bird, but there probably is one somewhere in tha background, it goes for miles!!  Yes you got it a Kangaroo, you all know Australia is famous for its kangaroos.

Well what can I say, he hops on 2 legs and I am pleased he is on the other side of the fence.

So then I made a card for you, a card with a little birdie on it with a cage in a tree and a little nest with speckled eggs in it!

How cute is that?  It is made from No.20 Crochet Cotten, and glued together with Glossy Accents.  Things are a bit pathetic here at the moment, no white glue (PVA) and have not been able to get out to get any. Soon 🙂

I love making things like this and my own embellishments, I get such a thrill from the journey of making things, and the finished card is like an anticlimax.

The background is hand stamped using Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Creamy Brown with a set of Stamp-It A5 Unmounted red rubber stamps.  I have used a Memory Box Woodland Branch for the brances at the top of the card, the cage is a Sizzix Bigz die, the branches/leaves at the bottom are from a Sizzlets die called Branch.  The leaves on the brances at the top have been cut from pieces of the branches at the bottom.

The little flowers are made by a Fiskars plier type punch 1/4 flower and the sentiment is a Penny Black stamp on a handcut strip.

I love the SU Bird punch and use it a lot.  I have been playing with it using punchart techniques so that I can make different, real looking (or more real) birds.  I am so pleased with this guy and now I might have to also play with shading to make my birds look more dimensional.

Now you have so much to look forward to, don’t you?

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going great.

Hugs :)

Hello my blogland friends!!!!

How are you all today?  Hope you are getting lots of eye-candy in while blog hopping around, or maybe you are getting inky fingers while making something wonderful!!!  Please tell me where I can find your work, would love to see it.
Well today I have been prettying up my craft room.  I have realised that although I make pretty cards, boxes  and other things, there is nothing other than my inspiration wall and my ribbon hanger that really looks pretty.  Everything is serviceable, rather than pretty.

I am going to change that.

Get a go at this for my scrap cardstock bin.

This is my original (thank you Sunday Telegraph) scrap cardstock box.  It originally was brightly striped gloss finish, but was starting to get a little shabby, so I have covered it with my fav colours and fave papers (well the last of them really) Bo Bunny Shabby Princess series (garden something) which I loved, stripes, dots, floral and circles, and colours to die for!!!.  Sad cannot get it anymore.  But now I will be able to look at those gorgeous colours every single day in my room.

The box was covered with papers, paint dabbered around all edges, sprayed with Perfect Pearl, ribboned, flowered, fibred, pearled and owled!!!  Oh butterflied too.

I love it.

There are 7 separators with Owl Tabs to keep my colours in their own area.  I have used a label die on the corner of the tab, added the owl (cutie) and finished with some ribbon and cotton string.

I love all those googley eyes looking at me!!

I am really pleased with this finished item and now I should be able to find all those smaller bits of card that used to get lost in the box.
So this is the finished overall photo, yes I think a job well done.

Yes I have lots of yellow at the moment, from making the party boxes a while back.  Might have to start doing yellow honeycomb cards with my newish hexagon die… 🙂
Thanks for calling in, hope you are having a great day!!

Hugs 🙂

Oh My this week on the Mix It Up Challenge on SCS our Miss Lynn challenged us to make a simple card.  Well as you know I am not a CAS type person, I love embellishing and I love the journey of the making, the time spent.

I can make a CAS card in 5 mins and feel so robbed by doing this.  But I put myself right out there and came up with these two little beauties.

The first one took a little time….. oh ok about 10 mins, 15 with glue drying and punching time.

Simple, easy and colourful happy birthday card.  Some bling on the flowers.  And the chance to use the die cutter.  The stamp is by Stamp-It Australia.

But then I thought, this is not really a CAS card, go on girl get one done…. so..

Now this fits the bill.  Stamped with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink, top to bottom, so the ink layers over the one above.  I love Fluid Chalk, it is a dye ink, but has the opacity of pigment and will layer so well so long as the ink it is going over is dry.  Gives great coverage and will blend when you want it to.  The sentiment stamp is by Kaszazz and the butterfly is a Penny Black.  Love Penny Black stamps. I got to be creative with the Liquid Pearls, so pretty and this card got me a mention in CAS card of the week on SCS, how cool is that.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is great!!!!
Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Well here we go again.  In the Alphabet Challenge over on SCS I was dared to make a card with a camera on it, so I had to think about that for a while.  Then I thought again and decided to make it a real ‘Cee’ card as well.

I have a Cerulean blue background, with a Child with her Camera, in a Coat and Cap, coloured with Chalks and Crayons, and Cut out and placed on a Circle and a Copse of trees stamped in Copper Ink with a foreground of Cork, embellished with Cotton stitching, some Cord, a Clip and a sentiment of Cherish among the Clouds

Cute and can you believe that all that is packed into this card??? I wonder if Dani will let me get away with this.  I love to push the envelope, and she would prefer I just posted it!!!
It is such fun on SCS playing and crafting with friends and stretching my mind as well.!!

Thanks for calling in, hope you have a great day!!

Hugs 🙂
