Hello Everyone,

Today I made a card for a special little friend of mine, she is a Princess to me and she loves cats.

I also wanted to have my card say just what I feel for her, so I made a digi of Love you more… and also Love you long time…. and you can download them today if you want to.   They are in PNG format so you can resize them to suit yourself in word (3inches wide is a good size for them), but I wanted to have the clarity in them for you.

So here is my card.

Lots of layers, and a PATP border, some embossing, a ribbon and brad, an embossed castle (where else would a princess live?) and a cat (told you she loves them) and there is a PATP panel inside with ribbon and a cat and some words from me telling her how much I love her.

The little flowers are coloured with shimmer chalks and the border is DTP with a cat’seye ink pad with Fluid Chalk Pink Pastel.

The flower is made on a flower loom (“Hana-Ami” Flower Loom) with 1/4″ organza ribbon and secured with a brad for the centre.

Let’s have a closer look.

Once I watched a youtube video on how to do these, it was so easy!!! Although at first I was using cord and it did not work well at all, but I will try this again another time.  Ribbon is very very easy.

Now for the Digi’s

If you click on the digi stamps you can open each one in a new page and download from the new page by ‘right clicking’ to save the image.

Hope you enjoy using them.
Thanks for calling in, I hope you have a great day!!

Hugs 🙂

Well I am a little behind with the Alphabet Challenge on Splitcoaststampers as I am only up to E is for Emu and the challenge is up to G for I am not sure what yet.

My story is continuing and here it is for the letter E.

“Early the next morning, each being eager to experience an excursion to the Endangered Exhibition, enthusiastically they earnestly encouraged each other to entreat Aunt Edwina in escorting them.  Each made emphasis of an elaborate editorial essay in the evening at the end of the educational experience.

In the enormous enclosure were eleven emus with eggs and eight egrets ready to emigrate northward. The ecologically established enclosure had elements to exhibit and educate against endangering excessively by ensuring edible eucalyptus and eastern escarpments with epiphytic ferns and elkhorns to enable ease of nesting.”

Aren’t they having a great holiday? So I made a card featuring an Emu.

So there you have it. A birthday card with an emu on it, a stamped tree or two in the background and an embossed tree, some braid and brads.

Stay tuned for the next segment in the action packed story!!

Have a great day!!

Hugs

Lauren 🙂

No it is not my birthday….. only wishing, birthdays are always nice days, so I wanted one!!!  Yeah!!

Now this is a pretty little card with…. a digi stamp by Laurenscraft, woo hoo and you can pick him up at the end of this blog post.

Another Birthday Digi by Laurenscraft

A simple Monochromatic card in shades of purple.  Image is coloured with watercolour pencils.  By using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder inked with Ranger Distress Ink Dustry Concord results in a fabulous background in colour and white.  I used a brayer to apply the ink to the EF, it gives a more even application, although dye ink does tend to give a mottled result, but is so easy to clean.  The alternative is to use pigment ink, giving great coverage, but oh it is hard to clean.

Birthday card with embossed bg.

The card is embellished with purple ribbon, baby rhinestones, a little bow, butterflies, a flower and hat pins inserted into the bow.

embellishments ribbon, beads and rhinestones

My friend Sam has gotten me hooked on hatpins, swap hostess extraordinaire and enabler, that is her.   Go have a looksie at Sam’s Blog, Cards by Sam, she does beautiful work!!  I just don’t seem to make many cards that do not have pins in them.  I am really starting to like busy cards, although I am still not sure if this is my style.

Ok so now we are up to the bit you were waiting for.  My friend Lisa has the most wonderful husband, Tony, and he makes digi stamps for her.  Lisa gives them out too, so go check her blog out, Crafting Cottage.  Just remember to give credit when you use them and link to her blog if possible please.  The other day I was skyping with Lisa and asked her what program he used for creating them.  Up till then I was using paint, which is ok but a bit … you know…

So we can thank Tony for this digi because I have moved into the real world of ‘proper’ graphics programs and I am in heaven!!! I can even use my little tablet that has been in the cupboard for about 4 years!!

So this is in .PNG format, you can insert it into a Word document and print from there.  You can also resize it if need be.  It prints six on the page.

Another Birthday Digi by Laurenscraft

Just click on the image and it will open to another screen, then save it to your computer, remember where you put it!!  When you want to use it, just open a Word document and insert the image in there, this will put the six images on a page for you to print out, or you can resize it by clicking on the little handles while holding the Shift key down.  I have cut mine with a 5.5cm circle from the original size.

You will find that most of my digis will be circular shapes or maybe an oval or sometimes a square.  I like circles 😉

Have fun!!

I think I am in love with butterflies, yes and I have been doing a little DTP (Direct to Paper) colouring my cardstock to totally co-ordinate.  It just makes things so much easier.  A long time ago I said that I only needed white paper, now I remember why.

Learn, Live, Hope digi by Laurenscraft

See I am starting to use my dies much more creatively, the digi is matted onto two ornate frame (middle part of cut) pieces placed side by side and the border of the frames creates the white scroll pieces.  Dies are from Quickuts Christmas Collection and Spellbinders  Nestabilities Classic ovals.   This little digi is created by me and it will be offered as a freebie for you to use.  I am new to the world of making digis, so let me know if I am up to scratch or not please.

ribbon flower with beading on cord

I spent some time a while back experimenting with ribbon and lace flowers with a lot of mixed results.  This is one of those flowers made from sheer polka dot ribbon with gold cord behind and beads added to it.  I thought it was perfect for this card with the same ribbon threaded through the Fiskars border punch Leave it to Weaver.  And a hat pin of course.

Here is a full view of the card with all elements of the border, embossing and embellishments.  Looks very delicate and sweet.

Learn, Live, Hope in pink and polka dot ribbon

Again I have only used the Martha Stewart border punch on part of the background panel.  This one is Swirling Lace.  This panel is embossed with Swiss Dots by Sizzix, the bottom panel is embossed with Sizzix Autumn leaves by Rachael Bright and DTP inked around the page with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Pastel Pink from the catseye making inking easy.  Butterflies are punched.  I really need to get a pretty filigree butterfly punch, just a little one.

Thanks for coming to have a look, hope you like it!!

I love to hear your opinions so please leave me a comment, thank you!

Hey Everyone,

Oh I just adore Mo Manning illustrations and this would be one of my favourites.  I bought a couple of Mo’s digis some while back and this is my first card with Mummu!!

Lots of layering with pretty papers, colouring with Prismacolour pencils and blending with paper stumps.  This image is Mummu by Mo Manning, just the most fabulous attitude image that I have ever seen.

The tilt of the head, the swing of the plait and the total movement of the image is just adorable.  She is having so much fun, living her life on her terms.

Another close up to show the ribbonand flowers.  Don’t you love those dancing feet??

Testing the Digi Freebie

Hi Everyone,

It has been busy the last few days, but I wanted to try a digi, I often make my own sentiments and like them to fit into a 4cm circle die.  So here is one of my favs that I have been using for a while.

Hope you like it.  You are welcome to download it if you wish.  I am new to this and have just saved my digi to a JPG that I use with no worries, so I hope the trip to the blog does not make it muck up.  I think all digis need and outing once in a while!!

Enjoy the moments Laurenscraft
