Hello Everybody,
Yes you have Lauren and Teddy on the blog today and the weather has turned to Winter for our Birthday month (yes you can send pressies to us) 🙂

So here we have a couple of cards for you, very pretty ones with flowers and things on them.

This one has used one of the A2Z Scraplets Umbrellas with Stampendous Embossing Powder, Shabby White then stamped with a script stamp with StazOn Ink and reheated to smudge it a bit.

All the usual embellishments from me, seam binding, lace, flowers and pearls.

The second card is all frills and things as well.

We started with a template and green for the new Leafy Template, then a doily die, the lace and ribbon.

The brickwall is painted with white.  the butterfly swirls is coloured with Tombo Dual Tipped Pens and then coated with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint, Rock Candy.  I love the crackle look.

Flowers were added and some stamen pieces and the word gorgeous was painted black and coated with Glossy Accents.

For those of you who have not met Teddy, here he is scrapbooking with friends 🙂  He is my sidekick and mentor and keeps me crafting on 🙂

Hugs from Teddy and Lauren

Hello Everybody!!

This card is made with the Kraft Plus Challenge in mind.  Yes a Kraft base, a recycled Kraft base that I saved from packaging and have been itching to use it.!!

I have spritzed the base with Dylusions Ink Spray in white.  Added some Grossgrain polkadot ribbon in four strips and a ruffled piece up the middle for something different and in keeping with the colour scheme.  Kaisercraft Die – Lacey Doily and Memory Box Die – MB Botanical Stem.  The A2Z Scraplets Birthday Set 1 Ebony and the Kylie’s Triangle Texture Ebony Shape have been left as they come in that beautiful black.  Decorated with Sugar Beads and a flower arrangement.

Close up of the A2Z Scraplets

And a close up of the flowers.
Thanks for calling by to have a look, this card is entered into the Kraft Plus Challenge for April!!
Waving madly at you all, Lauren and Teddy

Hello Everybody, I did forget to blog this for you.  It is my very first DT post for A2Z Scraplets (the best chipboard downunder).

Hi, Lauren here with my first share for you.   Hope you are keeping warm on the eastern half of Australia with the temperatures taking a dip again after that fantastic snow in Tasmania.

So I have made you a couple of cards.
Love this style of card, with loads of texture in a 5″x 5″ card, not too big, but loads of room to add all the lovely details and elements.  I have used two chippies from the wonderful range of A2Z Scraplets, the one at the top would be my all time favourite (but they all get a chance to be my favourite) Swirly Corners Medium and comes in a set of two.  The wonderful Congratulations at the bottom is just that, a script word for cards and layouts.
My background is texture paste on Memory Box Texture Honey Comb designer Stencil (88521), and when dry the background was sprayed with Ranger Pearl Mist Cappucino.  I have coated the chippie with Gesso and then painted with Ranger Distress Paint Victorian Velvet.  Embossed parts with  Stampendous Aged Bronze, then sprayed over with the Cappucino and re-heated as I love how the painted areas bubble and fizz just like the aged embossing powder does.
Yes I love to make flowers and the two larger ones on this card are made with Memory Box Fabulous Phlox (98511)
I love the richness of many textures and layering.  The butterfly is Memory Box Isabella and Pippi dies, such a lovely small butterfly.
Another full picture of the card to show the almost dandelion look of the Memory Box Chandra Stem (99090) to which I have added different size pearls.
A close up of the Chipboard Swirl and the richness of the Stampendous Aged Embossing Powders.
So I made another card to share with you, not as much work involed in this one, but still very pretty (yes I have to admit I love pretty).
A Wedding Shower card, with lacy borders, pearls, ruffled ribbon (tutorial at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wocnUTILmk and a lovely bow, all in tones of cream, gold and a touch of pink.
I have used a medium out of Umbrellas Set of 5 shapes (found at this link http://www.a2zscraplets.com.au/umbrellas_set_of_5_shapes.html  Started with Gesso, then embossed with Stampendous Shabby Rose Embossing Powder fairly thickly and while molten I have stamped a script stamp into it with StazOn ink and then reheated to get a marble effect.
Butterfly is Memory Box Isabella and Pippi
Thanks for stopping by and reading. I hope you are staying warm and getting lots of papercrafting done.

Dies, Lots of Lovely Dies

Hi Everybody,  Lauren up on the blog today with some inspiration for you.

Yes I made a card or two for you, did you expect something different?  Well it’s probably best not to set your sights too high, that way I will keep surprising you and you will think I am much more clever than I might be!!! 🙂

Another 5″x5″ card, these are my favourite as they are a good size and not too big.  I have edged around the front panel and the card with ink just to give the card a border.  The ribbon is seam binding and I am liking this stuff as much as I do organza ribbon.  It ruffles beautifully and the bows sit really well and can be manipulated if not quite sitting how you want them.  Here is a link to the tutorial of the ruffled ribbon on my youtube channel, there are also a couple of other basic tutorials there as well.

I have used four Memory Box dies on this card, Tall Chloe Stem No 98773  (the short one could be used as it is behind the heart), Grand Heart No98254 with La Rue Heart No98255 over it and the flowers are made using Petal Party No98304

The little flowers are perfect for this card with a coloured pearl in the centre to make them pop.  The flowers have been inked just on the very edge of them for a little definition.

So then I must have been on a roll because I made another card for you (well for someone close to me)

This one has an embossed background, with some very pretty lace across the bottom quarter of the card.  The chipboard hearts have been coated with gesso and then painted with Ranger Distress Paint Victorian Velvet and then stamped with a fine script stamp from Stamp-It Australia.

Again I have used four dies on this card, Memory Box Gold Finch No98756, Poppy Stamps Garden Sprig No930, Poppy Stamps Small Garden Sprig No 931 and Fancy Blossoms No98312.

All were cut from white cardstock and inked to the chosen colour, assembled and arranged on the card.  The ‘In Sympathy’ Chipboard piece is from A2ZScraplets, but might need to be special ordered as they were given to me by Deb.

Oh I hope you like these cards today.  Teddy (you know Teddy don’t you?) and I have worked hard on them for your viewing pleasure!!!! 🙂

Have fun!!!

Lauren xx

Hello Everybody,

Hope  all is well and you can feel Winter coming to an end soon with Springlike weather becoming the norm.  I can be wishing.

So I made a card for you.  Well two actually, just for you to enjoy with lushous goodies on them from A2Z Scaplets shop.  Oh my do I love to shop!!

So while I was shopping, I had to buy this fantastic set of four dies from Memory Box called Distressed Windham Collage (style 30041) from A2Z Scraplets Shop of course!  Well you know I love Memory Box Dies and you know I love Distressed and I also love Collage, so this one was just calling my name.  Four beautiful dies in different patterns and sizes just the one I have used.  Perfect for so many projects and ideas.  On this card I have also put some foliage, lovely handmade by me flowers and some other bought flowers and some lovely A2Z Scraplets Chippie flowers Scribbly Flowers Set of 3 Shapes.

The Chipboard flowers have been done with gesso to give a good coating for the spray to cling to.  A double go of Ranger Perfect Pearl Spray and then some glitter sprinkled.  Then heated and embossed.  The embossing was a bit patchy as I think I need more heat, so practice will be needed for this technique form me.  But I am sure you will do better with it. Embossing has never been my best trick!!

The Flowers are finished with some Ice Stickles from Ranger.  I have fallen in love again with this glitter glue, hmmm….

Hope you like it 🙂

And this second card is in my favourite pink and green.  Another new die from Memory Box called Modern Border Trim (style 30048), love these arrows and the cutout bits I have used to add to the area around the chipboard.  The ruffled ribbon and the added (dimensionally) the butterfly swirls from, they are really Butterfly and Flourish Medium from  A2Z Scraplets.

The Butterfly Swirl is done with Gesso, a coat of paint, pink on the butterflies and green on the rest.

Then sprinkled with glitter while still wet, and when dry I have used Ranger Inkessentials Medium Crackle Accents.  Love the way this dries more crackly the longer it dries.

Hope you like it 🙂

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everybody!!!

Oh my it is getting into Winter and it is brrrr cold inside and out.  Today is the Winter Solstice so that means that at least the days will be growing longer even if the temperature keeps dropping for a while.

So with this in mind I made a card to share with you all.

My favourite size card, in square 5 inch. Background is patterned paper with just a touch of Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo around the edge.  Doily from Cheery Lynn is French Pastry.  Chipboard is the new thick cut, 1.8mm from A2Z Scraplets (my favourite chippie in the world) painted white and while wet spritzed with Glimmer Mist Black Cherry.  When dry the chipboard is covered fairly thickly with Glossy Accents.

Finished with a bow made from mesh ribbon and a handmade flower using a Carl Daisy Punch.   Stmped sentiment on the doily is from Stamp-It Australia.  Then a few bling rhinestones are added.

Hope you like it!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

As you know I love making embellishemnts so I thought I would show you some of my recent ones.

These are all on chipboard die cuts and either inked and stamped, or covered with eggshell to make mosaic background.  Then coated in Glossy Accents and embellished with bling, flowers and punchies or ribbon.

They really are very pretty and I love using them for embellishemnts on projects, especially off the page.

Thanks so much for calling in, hope your day is going great!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

I have been playing with eggshells and the wonderful Alcohol Inks.  Love this techniques and love making embellishments like this.

Great depth of colour, wonderful mosaic look and a Laurenscraft rose and a little mulberry rose that was sprayed with Dylusions ink spray, I am loving that stuff.  If you have not used it yet, you should try it, great for doilies, flowers, ribbons and so much more 🙂

Now this one is a tag and the sam flower treatment, but I stamped on this one after the glossy accents and then glossied over it again.  The stamping was done with a fabulous Colorbox Metal Pigment Paintbox pad, had for ages and only just opened.  I love the brilliant colours of the shimmer, this one is Peacock Gold 🙂

Aww this one is so pretty, a little dark for my liking but the flowers tone it down a little and bling finished it off.  I am really happy with these.  Will be doing more again soon.

This one is not eggshell, it is inking and then  inking again over a template cut from a spellbinders butterfly.  Then it is spritzed over in Perfect Pearl mist Sunflower Sparkle, I love that one.  Then glossy accents (I love that stuff too) and some flowers and bling.  So pretty 🙂

Well that’s all the creativity that has been happening here this week but there will be more as I got a lovely parcel of Marianne Dies this week and I will have to try them all out 🙂

Make sure you get into the draw for the Blog Candy giveaway on Friday.  You need to find the blog candy post and comment on it, make sure you are a follower and tell someone about me.  I will be adding lots more to the blog candy, lots more flowers and die cuts, you will love it.

Thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,
You can really tell when Spring is here, warm one day, freezing the next.  Well it feels like it with the change that came through this afternoon, very cool, where did I put those jumpers??

Well today is RUOK Day in Aus, or is it worldwide?  I know it is about depression, but  I cannot understand why we need to have a day that makes us ask the people we know if they are OK, don’t we do that anyway, or check to see they are around the place and think of those we love every day anyway?  Or do we just get on with our own lives and not worry too much about those around us?  Ok so off my soap box now.
Over on SCS the Alphabet Challenge is on again and the letter for this week is ‘J’, so what better than JOY!!!
So here is my effort, with lots of Glossy Accents on Chipboard and a stamped collage background in white on dark cardstock.  Love this look.

The chipboard was coloured with light ink then red over to get the colour I wanted.  Then they are stippled with metallic gold pigment ink and heat set.  Loads of Glossy Accents to make a really dimensional look and some tiny rhinestones to finish.

Ted says he really likes it and wants a Christmas scarf to get into the mood for cards like this.

I love this sign, it reminds me to keep the company of those people who lift me up and help me to feel good about myself.  I also hope that the people I know leave my company feeling better than when they arrived.

Have a good day everyone, thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂
