Hello Everyone,

Oh I love Autumn, my favourite time of the year, filled with vibrant colour and texture.  Cooler, but not too cold.  Yes my time has come!!

So I have been prettying up my room, I see pictures of gorgeous craft rooms and realise that mine is functional, very functional with so much storage and my workspace set up so that all my ‘go to’ items are within reach.  Excellent you say and this is very important.  But there is nothing pretty about my room except for my inspiration wall.

Well I am changing that.

Don’t you just love love love my new mobile by Lauren?  Butterflies, fishing line, gems, ribbon and a polystyrene ring make this perfect.

Then there is the name of the room above some pretty inspiration.

Most of the cards on there were made over a year ago, oh let’s face it they all were!!  These were my favourites from that time though.

And now the best bit, a bit of my playing goodies.  The goodies that sit right behind me (only a swivel away) and within easy reach below the inspiration wall.

On display are some punches that I love, my brayers, some stamps and sprays of course.  The draw units are 5 drawer/ 3 units high and contain my inks and my stamps (well most of them.  There are 4 units of inks (maybe I need some more??) 🙂  Hahaha but I do love playing with ink and reinkers (yes I have reinkers for all my ink pads and some besides, should I look embarrassed?).

I think crafting goes so much easier when everything is in reach, it also makes putting things away so much easier – use it, put it away, yes that’s the way. 🙂

So I will be making the rest of my room prettier and will bring you pics as I do this.  Oh did I tell you that now I have a big screen tv in my room, all the better for movie and tutie watching. 🙂

Hello my blogland friends!!!!

How are you all today?  Hope you are getting lots of eye-candy in while blog hopping around, or maybe you are getting inky fingers while making something wonderful!!!  Please tell me where I can find your work, would love to see it.
Well today I have been prettying up my craft room.  I have realised that although I make pretty cards, boxes  and other things, there is nothing other than my inspiration wall and my ribbon hanger that really looks pretty.  Everything is serviceable, rather than pretty.

I am going to change that.

Get a go at this for my scrap cardstock bin.

This is my original (thank you Sunday Telegraph) scrap cardstock box.  It originally was brightly striped gloss finish, but was starting to get a little shabby, so I have covered it with my fav colours and fave papers (well the last of them really) Bo Bunny Shabby Princess series (garden something) which I loved, stripes, dots, floral and circles, and colours to die for!!!.  Sad cannot get it anymore.  But now I will be able to look at those gorgeous colours every single day in my room.

The box was covered with papers, paint dabbered around all edges, sprayed with Perfect Pearl, ribboned, flowered, fibred, pearled and owled!!!  Oh butterflied too.

I love it.

There are 7 separators with Owl Tabs to keep my colours in their own area.  I have used a label die on the corner of the tab, added the owl (cutie) and finished with some ribbon and cotton string.

I love all those googley eyes looking at me!!

I am really pleased with this finished item and now I should be able to find all those smaller bits of card that used to get lost in the box.
So this is the finished overall photo, yes I think a job well done.

Yes I have lots of yellow at the moment, from making the party boxes a while back.  Might have to start doing yellow honeycomb cards with my newish hexagon die… 🙂
Thanks for calling in, hope you are having a great day!!

Hugs 🙂

As you all know I have far too many supplies, and it is so easy to lose track of what is available to craft with unless  sorted in some useful way.

My ribbons took me a long time to get a system that worked for me.

Spools of ribbon, big or small are kept in a draw that I always threaten to sort into colour groups, but never get done.  I tend to store in types of ribbon and size of spool.  They all stand on end so it is easy to see what is there.

No photo of my drawer of ribbon, cos you will think it is a pitiful amount.  When a spool gets low, I cut the ribbon into 1 metre lengths and it goes to the next storage solution.

So I will show you what I do with 1 metre lengths of ribbon.

This is a coathanger over the door in my craftroom, but usually it is hanging on the little mobile drawer unit at the right of where I sit. All ribbons on here are sorted into colour groups, all are 1 metre in length and have a ‘same ribbons’ pinned together and attached to the coathanger with the safety pin. (no I do not worry about that little pin prick)

Most of the time this hangs on the side of a mobile drawer unit that is right next to my chair at my craft desk for ease of reach to adhesives, tools, embellishments, paper and cardstock scraps.

Pieces of ribbon smaller than 1 metre are in ziplock bags in colour groups, hanging on the side of a storage unit (A5 cardstock and colouring mediums) just off behind where I sit at my table in easy reach.

Really I only have these bags containing greens, browns, blues, cream, purple, orange/yellow, pinks/reds, black/white, as these colours work for me.

When I want ribbon, I look in these bags first, then the coathanger, then the drawer.

My craftoom is not necessarily pretty, or matching, but the thing it is for me is very functional, and so much is within reach when I am crafting.

So if you are looking for ideas to store your ribbon.  You might like to try this one, or you might be able to take some of it and adapt it to your needs.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going great!!!

Hugs 🙂
