Hello Everybody!!

This card is made with the Kraft Plus Challenge in mind.  Yes a Kraft base, a recycled Kraft base that I saved from packaging and have been itching to use it.!!

I have spritzed the base with Dylusions Ink Spray in white.  Added some Grossgrain polkadot ribbon in four strips and a ruffled piece up the middle for something different and in keeping with the colour scheme.  Kaisercraft Die – Lacey Doily and Memory Box Die – MB Botanical Stem.  The A2Z Scraplets Birthday Set 1 Ebony and the Kylie’s Triangle Texture Ebony Shape have been left as they come in that beautiful black.  Decorated with Sugar Beads and a flower arrangement.

And a close up of the flowers.
Thanks for calling by to have a look, this card is entered into the Kraft Plus Challenge for April!!
Waving madly at you all, Lauren and Teddy

Hello Everyone,

I think that WordPress has made a few changes and I am not sure what is going on.  Not to worry we will work it out.

So today I made a card.

There is a challenge mini challenge on the Aussie Crafts, Creations and Challenges site on Facey and it is for recycling.  Well you all know that I hate to throw anything out as it will be wanted when gone, and the waste you know I cannot stand.

So this gorgeous tulle and satin flower is made from the scraps of dance costumes that my friend Julie gave me ages ago.  I use them so sparingly, what would I do when they are all gone???

The doily behind is French pastry from Cheery Lynn, which my dear friend Lisa from Crafting Cottage sent me for my birthday, thank you Lisa, I love it.  The Cheery Lynn Faerie Queen wings small came from the Aussie Crafts and Scrapbooking Bargains site on Facey.

Just a nice easy card for today.  I have been making mega amounts of flowers lately and needed a break, so this card!!

Thanks for calling in, hope you have a great day.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone, what a beautiful Saturday, warmish, but with a lovely cooler evening.  Gotta love the Autumn.  Best time of the year.

So I made a card with some recycling on it.

So the background panel and the small flowers are made from packaging card (clever me) and the metal flower and the metal leaves are from an aluminium can.

I carefully cut the can open and lay it flat if possible, then I colour it with Stazon Ink, in this case the flower was done with a yellow and red with felt on a Tim Holtz applicator to get a coppery colour, the leaves with green and blue with a chalk texture stamp.

Then they were die cut.  Flower is the large, med and small of the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Florals and the leaf is the Sizzlets Branch.  The flower was run through a polkadot embossing folder and then curved the petals gently and assembled with mounting tape between each layer and a blingy centre added.

The ribbon is from flowers that the lovely Tarissa brought me last week as a thank you, such a sweet sweet girl 🙂

I have assembled the two typed of ribbon bows into the arrangement and kept them together and attached with a brad. Very clever wasy to keep the bow almost flat with lots of ribbong loops.  Thank you Helen for teaching me this.

This card was made for the You Can Do It Challenge over on SCS, fits the bill perfectly.

Hope your day is going along swimmingly, hugs 🙂

Oh my, it was warm today and I do not handle the heat well, all those swelly hands and feet, just terrible and still waiting for a bit of a cool down that just not seem to be happening.

So I can hear you say, why are you still doing the Mix It Up Challenge on Splitcoaststampers? Well you see, even though Kathy loved my blue card, she said it did not follow the rules, it had crystal bling and silver beadcaps on it.

I have promised to keep it going until I get it right!! Bit like Groundhog Day, and I could be here all week!!

But this is what Iwant to show you today, monochromatic in browns.

monochromatic in browns

The background is in two shades of brown  embossed with Cuttlebug EF Stylised Flowers in antique gold shimmer paper, a paper doily coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and a strip of mottled brown paper above the strip of lace flowers that have also been coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

Embellished with a Bazzill 3″ petal in tan with some colouring with Vintage Photo and the letter disks and butterfly are die cut from an aluminium drink can and inked with StazOn Timber Brown.  The letter stickers are dark brown and come from I know not where!!  I have also used a row of bronze brads at the top and some to hold the tags in place.

WOW, I hope this one meets Kathy’s tough guidelines. See you all tomorrow!

Hope your day is going well.  Thanks for coming by.

Hugs Lauren ♥♥

It’s time again for the I Spy Challenge on SCS and Dani gave us another great little riddle as to what she had spied.

So the only thing I could think of was lace, lace along the edge of clothing perhaps.

So this is what I have to show you today…

flowers and lotus centre

Shades of cream and yellow, daisies and lotus shapes along with wide ribbon and dragonflies.  Colorbox Fluid Chalk Yellow Cadmium DTP on the dragonflies and daisies as well as the centre of the lotus shape.

ribbon bow and hat pins

Wide satin ribbon across the card and tied in a big bow.  Hat pins again, love those things.

full view of the card

The background panel of the card is covered in lace, recycled from an old curtain.  Pretty paper panel in the middle, die cut foliage and those lovely daisies punched with EK Success Flower, cut and layered with a brad.

Hope you like it, thanks for calling in to have a look.

Hugs Lauren ♥♥

Hi Everyone, back again.  Yes I have been throwing the cards out today, I love it when I have some mojo hanging around, and the interest stays with me to finish my creations.

Today I worked on the SCS I Spy Challenge.  Dani gave us this little jingle….

There once was a lady
that crafted all day long,
She cut and she scored
while singing this little song;
“I am a happy stamper
like noone I’ve ever met
I love to use the color red
please hand me a round ________.

Here is a hint: Keep rhyming

Well it took me long enough…… it is an eyelet!!

Time is the most Precious Gift

Time is the most Precious Gift

So here is my card!!! A side opening 4″x8″ card, with an embossed panel of cardstock and designer paper in TH Steampunk by Sizzix, both folders used.  Stamped over with Hero Arts, Handwritten Timeless.

Oh and some recycling here, a box (corrugated in the middle) cardboard was used to cut the cogs with Sizzix Die Gadget Gears. I love them.  The clock pieces on the top cog is a spare second hand of a clock mechanism, the token is from Adelaide’s Magic Mountain!!.  A couple of circular paper clips and two sentiments to finish off.  The time sentiment is a Lucy’s Stamp the bottom a SU.

I like to spread it around, mix and match my stamps.  The only time I am a purist and stick to the same company is when I mask or make a scene.

Oh Oh and I forgot to tell you about the eyelets at the bottom, with artistic wire through them.  The whole purpose of the card, was the eyelets for the challenge.

Hope you like it, remember to get inky later!!
