Hello Everybody!

Freezing cold today with the wind coming off snow nearby, I am thinking that Winter is having a last shake before she says goodbye!

So I have been playing with some inks.  Yes Ranger Distress Inks and sponge applicators to make a stunning background.

10402530_10203916997874860_1034422171434262997_n

This first one is just a blend of Vintage Photo, Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed.  Starting with the lightest across the centre of the card and blending up and down, then the next colour spreading further up and down, and then the Vintage Photo at the top and bottom and a little down the side edges.

Then the exciting bit, the stamping of that fabulous Windmill stamp from Kaszazz and the Happy Birthday from the set from  Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Simple Sayings.

Then this one is done very similarly with the base card inked again with the same 3 colours and then spritzed with water.  The panel is inked and then stamped with the beautiful Stamp-It Australia Stamp Tranquil Dawn and the Simple Sayings Happy Birthday.

Same colours of ink again, this time the background is a circular one with pale surrounded by darker and the edges with areas of pale.  The Lucy’s stamp Large Tiger is stamped and then masked so that the Bamboo can create a background with repetitive stamping.

Hope you like them as much as I like playing with inks!

Hugs   🙂

Hello Everyone,

What a torrential bit of horizontal rain we had this afternoon, everything was dark at 3.30pm and down it came, amazing, soaking, very wet and wild!!

So I thought I would show you a card I made with my friend Lisa via Skype on Sunday morning, she is such a trick, she fires me along and gets my mojo going.  Why can’t she live next door???

SANY2836

So clever Lisa found a card on Pinterest that twigged her imagination and said, let’s make a version of that, so we did, pop over to see hers at Crafting Cottage you will love having a look around over there.

This is a 5×5 inch square card, with an SU Embossing folder used, a pointsettia made using Spellbinders die and Martha Stewart Branch punch, and my favourite Lucy’s Stamp for cardfronts 🙂

Enjoy, thanks for calling in.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Autumn is here and it is getting much cooler up the valley, but still quite reasonable here, just like late in the season should be!!

So I made a card that is a bit like me.  Vintage and getting better with the age of it.

SANY1909

This is just a stunner that has completely blown poor Ted away.  When I think Vintage, I think lace and pearls, muted tones, burnished edges and roses and other flowers.  I also think of script or running writing and memories to be fondly remembered.

So I took a piece of paper I got in a pack recently called Arcadia, it is a little pack about 4 and 1/2 inches by 6 and a 1/2 inches with four sheets of each pattern in it.  Mostly oldish, mostly muted and lots with flowers on them.  Perfect I thought.  And the size makes it perfect for a card, it covers the font and gives a bit left to decorate inside the card.

So I put it on a panel for an A6 size card and distessed around the edges with the  Paper Distresser and then inked it with Ranger Distress Ink Antique Linen.  Attached the ribbon along the botttom, inked that too… added the inked leafy flourish (die by Boskut) and then attached some pearl stings.  Then I inked the flowers, and popped them on.

The sentiment is by Lucy’s Stamps and is good one.  The label with the sentiment is attached with dimensional foam.  Finished off with sticky back pearls.

Hope you like it!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

I have been a little absent during the Christmas Period, it is such a rush with things happening and people to see, so I wanted to spend any spare time with my DH Keith and friends, or to play my silly games on Facebook.  My friend Lisa (bad Lisa) got me into a hidden object game, and you know I love love love them.

But I am back with you and Miss Lisa and I had a little Skype Session to Challenge each other to make a card from Pinterest that she loved.  Check it out http://pinterest.com/pin/244812929715528670/ it is the most beautiful CAS card so here is my take on it.  Make sure you pop on over to Lisa’s Crafting Cottage to see her fabulous creation.

How good is this, so different for me, I always think that Clean and Simple are never finished.  But you know I really really like this, it is my favourite card I have made for a while.  Not sure if it is the colour (Ranger Distress Ink Peacock Feathers) or the CAS of the thing.

I have stamped the three sizes of butterfly onto the card and also onto scrap and cut them out to overlay with dimensional tape underneath.  I have used Glossy Accents on the top layer and put some rhinestones on them.  I am loving the look of Glossy Accents on my butterflies.  Sometimes I get into a rut and forget to get out.  But they do look nice.

So simple, no flowers, no ribbon, no bows, no pink, can I live with this…. YES!!!

So go and have a look at the original and at Lisa’s too.  You will love them all.  Do you Pinterest??? I think you should.

Thanks for calling in.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post today, for a card made for the MIU Challenge over on SCS where we had to make a card with fruit on it.  Miss Kathy thought this one up.  So I thought I have a grape stamp, so here it is.

Well this turned out so much better than I thought it might.  Sometimes I am at a loss as to what to use as a background with coloured images, because I am so unsure of patterned papers and often do not have paper that matches my cardstock, DUH!!

But I was clever with this one, I piced out the cardstock to match my colouring (watercolour pencils) and then matched the ink and stamped the background with that beautiful Netting stamp from Lucy’s stamps.

Then I assembled the card, with a white base with a purple mat and a white mat over it (this was stamped in Ranger Distress Ink Dusty Concord.  On these panels I layered some white lace and a purple cardstock strip with a white bow.  The image was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities circles and matted onto a scalloped circle.  Card is finished with a few drops of Liquic Pearls.

This is a pretty little card using two images from Stamp-It Australia.

I cannot believe I have not been stamping so much in the last year or so.  My friend Miss Lynn got herself some new craft room furniture and rearranged her room to be more like mine and have most things within reach.  When she was doing this I realised that I had stopped stamping because they were not in reach and I was forgetting what little goodies I have in those drawers.

So, I did the move of the trolley with the stamps in it, to the bookcase and the stamps to a little coffee table behind where I sit, ….. well Bingo!!! How good is that???  I am loving it.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post today with a card that I made a little while ago for the Alphabet Challenge Letter U for underwear.  Well a corset is underwear isn’t it?

I had such a good time making this card, the journey was wonderul.  And look at that Teddy he loves the card too!!

Everything on this card has been coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo.  Oatmeal A6 base card layered with some vintage music paper which has been stamped with Ranger Distress Ink Walnut Stain with vintage type stamps.  The string was hand sewn after punching all the holes for the stitches.  The string is recycled from onion bags, washed and then stained with distress ink.  The lace was added next.

The tags and sentiment panel are plain white, sponged and then stamped, distressed and then added to the card.  Buttons are recycled and the pearls embellish the tags along with ribbon.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Today I will show you are card that I made a while ago for the Alphabet Challenge over on SCS.  The challenge was to finish a card that was made but not finished.  We all have cards like that, don’t we?  The ones we don’t finishe because we don’t think they are working for us?  Well I have lots of those.

So here is the one I finished that had the coloured image on it, the Riverbend, and all I had to do was the sentiment (with an R in it – Remember) and add the star brads!!

Beautiful image, so peaceful and so very country.  And how easy was this to colour with some watercolour pencils and a flick of a wet brush.  Love this sentiment from Lucy’s Stamps.

Hope you like it!!  I really do love this image.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)
