Hello Everyone,

Wonderful day today, warm, sunny Autumn at its best.

But sadness has fallen over the Newcastle and Valley with the death this morning of Tony Tamplin, the police public relations officer.  He went to work this morning, collapsed and died shortly after in hospital.  His workmates gave him CPR till the ambos arrived.  Very sad, I think that everyone knows of Tony and his community work, fundraising, tireless work and high public profile.  The only police officer I ever knew with real personality and a smile for everyone.  Far too young at 54.  R I P Tony, heaven will be a better place for your presence.

So I made a card in police blue.

Even Ted is a bit subdued today.  But this card is so special with its ruffled ribbon, double bow, handmade flowers, lacey edges, circles and wreath and the lovely sentiment.  The butterfly, wreath and flowers have been inked with Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks.

Hope you like it, hope your day has been going along well.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Quick post again today.  Such a hot day and will be warm again tomorrow but it will be oh so lovely and cool on Friday and Saturday.  That makes me happier.

So, I made a card.  I made the flower I have thought about for so long now, and finally got around to it.  Using vellum and the Sizzix Tim Holtz Bigs Tattered Florals to cut about 6 die cuts, I then ran them through  the polkadot embossing folder and then curled the petals back.

Isn’t that just gorgeous??? So delicate and soft with the leaves cut from vellum as well.  The centre is a very prettty pearl surrounded by bling.  I only use these for special projects.

Finished off with a beautiful butterfly and sentiment.  All is matted onto a label mat in pink.  This is such a pretty card and really so easy to make.

See you again tomorrow!! Have a great day 🙂

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Lovely warm day today, so I spent it inside in the cool.  It looks so beautiful with a blue sky and nice little breeze.  I did venture outside to take a couple of photos that I will show you later in the week, the Jacaranda is out in  flower, carpeting the grass with blue flowers and the flame tree is just flaming.

But onto today’s crafty effort.  This card is in my favourite colourings, I love neutral tones and the colours of Autum, when I look at colours like that I can feel a wave of peace or relaxation go through my body, now I know that sounds funny, but it is true for me.

This paper is the last of it, about 7 years ago I bought a pack of 25 of big sheets, and alas it is now just down to a few scraps… 😦  I will have to find another music sheet I like.

Ok so I have used my favourite PATP set to give this beaut border.  I do need to get a couple more of them, you are probably all sick of seeing this one.

Loved using the Colorbox Fluid Chalk Chestnut Roan DTP around the edge, I love those Cat’s Eye Stackers are brilliant for colours and storage is clever.  The paper has been DTP around the edge too.  A ribbon and bow added, a handmade flower by me 🙂 and a little ribbon cut for the sentiment.

Very simple, but very nice I think.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Today I have a fun little card for you.  Over on SCS in the Alphabet Challenge someone challenged me to make a card using punched Underwear!!  Oh does the mind boggle.

So I made a nice little manikin modelling a nice little set of lace-edged bra, pants and garter.

This was really fairly easy to do, the manikin is die cut using the Sizzix Bigz Die Sewing Room, the underwear is punched with a circle punched and some pieces put onto paper and punched a second time.  The straps and garder are just hand cut.  The lace along the edges is scribbled with a gel pen.  I knew I had them for a reason.

The background of the card is run through an embossing folder (Sizzix Swirls) and the broder but with a Sizzlits border die.  The join is covered with the ribbon.  The shortfall in length is covered by the ribbon cut sentiment.  Bodacious is from Stamp-It Australia.

Cute and fits the bill, and I am sure I will find someone to send it to!!

Hope you like it!!

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Just for fun I am using up a lot of my scraps and this card is an example of that.  You know that I like to layer my cards and (almost) never make a card of a single layer, I like my cards to be a bit sturdier than that.

So this is really just a simple card with die cut edged pieces of scrap in two different types of cardstock in cream.  A sentiment embossed in gold and a lace flower.

Hope you like it!!

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick post today again, no chance to get any outdoor photos.  Have you heard or seen the storm damage on the north coast and southern Queensland.  I am hoping all my friends in the storm areas are staying safe. We would like rain, but not with the damage thank you!!  BTW we are nowhere near these bad storms.

So I stayed in my craft room and made a card or two.

So this is a bit bright and cheery, just to make up for all that rain. This card is made from scraps other than the white A5 base.  The left panel of the card is a strip I have left over from making a 5×5 card from an A4 sheet.  So I cut it the length I needed and coloured it with a felt ink applicator with Ranger Distress Ink Tattered Rose.  Then I used a stencil to colour with the Worn Lipstick.  When done, I dipped it into clear embossing powder and then heat set.  How cool is that?

I then made two scallop edge strips in white and added a pink ribbon to one and then layered the other on it.  Attached them tot he card and then added the inked panel.  Just a little different for me, but I do like to use scaps, and try my hand at brighter colours than usual.

The flower is cut with a Sizzix Bigz die Tattered Florals, the petals curled down and then big bling with a pink circle below it.  These blings are clear so they can be coloured to match the project.  I like that idea.

The sentiment is a great one for friendship and is from Stamp-It Australia.  This I have cut with my label die.

Hope you like it.  I will post again tomorrow, maybe something completely different, who knows?

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)
