Hello Everyone,

Only a couple of weeks and I head off to the Gold Coast for the Scrapbooking Retreat hosted by My2Angels, the best little scrapbook store on the Coast.  Can’t wait, almost ready to go 🙂

So I made a card 🙂

Now this is a Christmas card in non traditional colours, but maybe I need to put DEC on there, as most people are thinking this is a 25th Anniversary card.

You know I cased this card from my friend Lisa at Crafting Cottage, she is so talented and creative, I sometimes think I should just case her work and save my brain the strain of thinking.

She taught me the benefits of sponging over white embossed stamps, and she taught me so many things to do with doily stamps.  Maybe I could be a little more creative when I case her work, or copy it exactly then everyone would know what the card is 🙂

Hope you like my take.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Wet Easter here in Oz’s east coast, but so good for the tanks and the farmers, who could complain?  Hoping you had a happy and safe Easter, travelled safe and enjoyed your family and friends, didn’t overdose on chocolate and hot cross buns and took the time to reflect on the season.

Love the stitching on this card, the paper used (Kaisercraft) the die cuts, ribbon, lace and the flower.  Looks so busy, bu tis really a simple card to make.

Hope you like it.

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

Did you see that today was the launch of the You Can Do It Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers and it is fantastic, lovely new people to corrupt and get to know, lovely new people to learn things from, how awesome is that???  Oh here is the link to the week one challenge

So our Miss Lynn set the first challenge off and running on the theme of handmade flower on your creation.  Well how good is that?  So I thought I might do a different flower just for fun and everyone is probably sick of me showing up with those same old boring flowers!!

So whatcha think of this????

So this is made with cirles of satin type material and tulle.  and fastened together with a brad when done and a little Ice Stickles to give that special glitz!!

The original tutie I saw on this used a heat gun to melt the fabric to make it curl up, but I found that a little unwieldy, so I put a tea light candle into a little glass and heated the edges of my material over the flame. This gave me a break from the heat as it was not outside the glass, and it also gave me perfect control to be able to heat just a little at a time if my circle was uneven.

So here it is, the whole card.

Look Ted is in love with it, he is such a funny little fella, he keeps me company in my craft room and he also is my biggest fan.  Bet you all wish you had a boyfriend like him, eh??

I love this simple card, the flower is all the brillance it needs. 🙂

Seriously anyone who is papercrafty should be a member over on Splitcoaststampers, it is where you will learn so much, full of tutorials, full of great galleries, full of great people with so much information to share.  I remember when I started out papercrafting, there was so little on the net and everything was learned from magazines or books.  Really most things were learned by trial and error.  Some of my greatest works were arrived at by mistake!!

Well have fun, and make something nice today,

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone,

You know that I am spoiled and my Keith let me buy myself a crafting Christmas pressie and it arrived the other day 🙂 Lots of Spray Pearls, Stencils and other goodies, here is a little looksie.  And of course I have started using and experimenting with my goodies.

Too many goodies, but I will use them all, each and every one of them several times, they will all be put away and cared for after I finish drooling over them and then I will regularly take them out and use them.  You will have to stay tuned to see what I do with them.

So this is the first thing I did, I had to play with that beautiful Wild Plum inkpad.  Lovely die ink pad colour that I have had for a long long time.

The colour is just stunning, and I have used it on an embossing folder.  Applied it with a brayer because that gives a much better and very even coverage.   I love the effect that it gives when an embossing folder is inked liked this.

Oh and I have put a frame in there, (Spellbinders Nestibilities Fleur di Lis rectangles sent to me by my Miss Lynn) I just cut the centre out of them.  I love die cut frames with this background technique.  I have also added my favourite leaf flourish, Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish.  And the flower is a new die too, it is 3 different size dies with three petals with an indent in each one, no clue what it is called, I think it is a Quickutz.

Had to add ribbon and a bow, a sentiment, the flower and a butterfly covered with Glossy Accents.  I am loving my  butterflies done like that.  The sentiment is finished off with three drops of Icestickles.

So there you go, something brand new and I love it. 🙂   Thanks so much for calling in and having a look at what I have been up to.

Hugs :)
