Well I have been finding it a little hard just using one colour on my cards and I am in withdrawals for something colourful and bright!!

And this is it!! Get a go at this little number I made with scraps from my stash.  There is nothing better than making a card with small bits and pieces.  Well excetpt for the card base that is.

bits and pieces of colour

Citrus colours with strips and asterisks, how much better can it get?  The green section is dotted with a rolla stamp in Colorbox Frost White.  The patterned paper is a border sheet I have had some leftovers of for ages and just liled to keep it around to look at it from time to time…. oops – gone now!!

Thanks is die cut and comes as an extra plate in the Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet.  I love the separators between each section, punched with Fiskars Border Punch Threading  Water.  Each panel is faux stitched.  A fun card, in bright vibrant colours!!

Hope you like it.  Tomorrow I have a wedding card for you, and also a little digi….. by Laurenscraft of course…. now tell me would you like to be a Spring Chicken or an Old Chook???  Fess up.

Hugs Lauren ♥♥

Oh my, it was warm today and I do not handle the heat well, all those swelly hands and feet, just terrible and still waiting for a bit of a cool down that just not seem to be happening.

So I can hear you say, why are you still doing the Mix It Up Challenge on Splitcoaststampers? Well you see, even though Kathy loved my blue card, she said it did not follow the rules, it had crystal bling and silver beadcaps on it.

I have promised to keep it going until I get it right!! Bit like Groundhog Day, and I could be here all week!!

But this is what Iwant to show you today, monochromatic in browns.

monochromatic in browns

The background is in two shades of brown  embossed with Cuttlebug EF Stylised Flowers in antique gold shimmer paper, a paper doily coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and a strip of mottled brown paper above the strip of lace flowers that have also been coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

Embellished with a Bazzill 3″ petal in tan with some colouring with Vintage Photo and the letter disks and butterfly are die cut from an aluminium drink can and inked with StazOn Timber Brown.  The letter stickers are dark brown and come from I know not where!!  I have also used a row of bronze brads at the top and some to hold the tags in place.

WOW, I hope this one meets Kathy’s tough guidelines. See you all tomorrow!

Hope your day is going well.  Thanks for coming by.

Hugs Lauren ♥♥

I wanted to make something for my friends Julie and Helen (crafting buddies) because they really are so very kind to me.  While keeping my eye on the Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas, I thought what a wonderful idea for a keepsake for them both.  This is what I came up with.

This is a handcut chipboard tag, painted with Adirondak paint dabber Lettuce and stamped with pine trees in silver metallic pigment ink.  Christmas paper is torn and layered on with cream, then deep green and a christmas ribbon.  Noel is die cut chipboard, inked with silver metallic and frosted with Crystal Ice Stickles.

A handmade pointsettia, layered over punched fern fronds is snow tipped with Crystal Ice Stickles.  A hinged ring, decorated with ribbon scraps is attached to the bottom corner.

A flourish is die cut from an aluminium can (love recycling) and the baubles from scrap papers decorated with tiny pearls, rhinestones and tiny bows.

All of this is finished with a ribbon tie and bow with a stick pin inserted.  Then the whole thing is sprayed with a little pearl spritz with a little glue included to sprinkle glitter over.

I am really pleased with the result and the girls love them.
