Hello Everyone!!

Well the other day I was Skyping/Organising with my friend Lynn and she is in the middle of a huge revamp and organise of her craft room, so exciting!  And I got to thinking that I do not stamp or use my inks so much because they are not so handy… so I have utilized the space right behind me by moving my double decker trolley (that holds some punches only) and put a small coffee table there and now have put my 9 drawer units with stamps and inks in them, right there behind my chair. 🙂 It is so much better, thanks Miss Lynn.

So with the new mojo given by the rearrangement, I went and took a photo of some wildlife for you.

This is a Bird of Paradise plant growing right next to the driveway and it has huge flowers on it.  The plant is huge, above my eye level and almost as wide.  Huge flowers on long long stems and surrounded by lush growth of other plants.  He looks magnificent, doesn’t he?

So to match the magesty of this bit of nature, I had to show you something really special.  A couple of decorator tags that I have made.    I might have to make some more and perhaps frame them. 🙂

This tag is made with white cardstock 6cm x 12 cm and sponged with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and then stamped with a solid script butterfly in the same ink.  I have added a chipboard flourish inked in Colorbox Fluid Chalk Pink Pastel, then stamped with SU Boroque Motifs (the big swirl) in CFC  Charcoal.  Then covered with Inkssentials Glossy Accents and sprinkled lightly with glitter.

The dress form is cut with a Sizzix Bigz die Sewing Room.  Stamped in Colorbox Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown with a Harlequin stamp and a script stamp from the same unmounted set from Stamp-It Australia.  Then I have sponged over this with Ranger Distress Ink Tattered Rose.

The little roses (gorgeous they are) are silk and I bought them a long time ago and was going to use them on a wreath, but didn’t do it.  The tag is finished with some natural twill printed with create and believe.  The little buterfly is inked  and then glossed.

This one is made on a cream 12cm x 6cm tag base.  I have sponged all over with darkened edges with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo and then stamped it using differing stamps from an unmounted set from Stamp-It Australia, love the effect of this base.  🙂

The heart is an embellishement I made a while ago (I love fiddling and making embellies, have heaps lined up ready to use).  I diecut the heart from medium weight chipboard and inked it with Vivid ink Rasperry several times until the depth of colour seemed ok.  The piece was then covered in Inkssentials Glossy Accents and rhinestones placed on it.

When dry the lace was attached to the back with hot glue, first the white lace and then the pink.  When done pearls and cord was attached and then the little silk roses.  Having this piece already done made it an easy tag to finish off with an inked and glossed butterfly and some sheer ribbon.  The ring around the hole is just a cheap ring reinforcer which has been sponged and over stamped in Distress inks and left to dry for ages.  (a couple of days and they do not smear).

Hope you like these tage,  I know I do.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going great.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post today of a project I finished yesterday.  When I first started this, I made the long beads from paper and when rolled, I thought, eh not very interesting, so I put them aside and left them for a while.

So this week on MIU there was a challenge to something other than paper, so everyone seems to be doing beading, so I thought, well I might just finish this little item and see what it turns out like.

When I rolled the paper I put heavy wire through the hole and put a ring at each end.  The the beads were put into UTEE until they stopped bubbling and then I hung them up until they were cool.  Then I had to clear out the UTEE that settled into the wire loops.  When done, they were wrapped  in wire and then made into a neclace and earrings.

The main thing I learned was that the beads darkened quite a lot with the UTEE process, so next time I will know to use much more white on my  paper.

I used junk mail for this, but next time I think a magazine will do well with printing on the pages.

Hope you like this.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello Everyone!!!

So much cooler today, almost back to Winter temperatures and the breeze is from the South!!  I cannot keep up with this, so not to worry, this is Spring and I think it is always like this.

Being Spring we have bunnies just a few weeks old.  Yes they are wild, not pets but they come close.  These photos were taken when I just walked up close to these little buggars eating grass shoots.  I think they will probably end up being Monty’s dinner at some stage.  That is life in the bush so don’t get attached to them.

They are only about 5 inches long, but they are so cute!!  Yes maybe they are Hares!!! No really they are bunnies.

So with babies in mind a made a little album for the memories of a friend of mine and her three little girls.  I used to do a lot of  looking after little Amy when she was a baby and the other two girls to help her mum out with three littlies at home.  They are always so happy as I remember them, so called it a happiness journal.

Look this is so beautiful it has floored Ted.  It is made from thin chipboard, cut with Spellbinders scalloped squares and inked in brown and green. Pockets and tags, loads of ribbon and flowers.  Front cover has 3 tags for journalling and tucked into a torn pocket made from cardstock coloured with shaving cream technique.  Some very pretty flowers and a clip, some ribbon and a slider.

First double page is a sentiment opposite a clear page through which a photo of Jessie is visible, giving a hint of what is to come.  I love the flowers on this, the punched, embossed and inked and the different shapes of flowers matted together.

Second double page, showing the clear page on the left and the photo of Jessie on  green and embellished with flowers and ribbon.  Stamping and the layered and embossed flowers and the ribbon give it all depth, as does the edging on the clear page.

This third double page opening has lovely Heidi as a flower, so beautiful.  More flowers, ricrac.  The little diamond fold embellishement on the second page opens up, but I forgot to take a photos.  Love the button on here too.

Fourth page has the little wild child Amy, check out that smile, she was always like this.  More flowers, ribbon and stamping.  And a sneak peek at the tags on the next page.

More trimming with the shaving cream card, flowers and edging of the clear page.  Tags in a pocket and a clip and more stamping.

The back cover is stamped with the lovely saying of Happiness, trimmed with ribbon.

The book is held together with a hinged ring embellished with tied ribbon to match that used in the book.

Hope you like it, I know I do, it is going in with my keepsakes.  Love these little girls.  Love their mum too.  🙂

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs :)

Hello my blogland friends!!!!

How are you all today?  Hope you are getting lots of eye-candy in while blog hopping around, or maybe you are getting inky fingers while making something wonderful!!!  Please tell me where I can find your work, would love to see it.
Well today I have been prettying up my craft room.  I have realised that although I make pretty cards, boxes  and other things, there is nothing other than my inspiration wall and my ribbon hanger that really looks pretty.  Everything is serviceable, rather than pretty.

I am going to change that.

Get a go at this for my scrap cardstock bin.

This is my original (thank you Sunday Telegraph) scrap cardstock box.  It originally was brightly striped gloss finish, but was starting to get a little shabby, so I have covered it with my fav colours and fave papers (well the last of them really) Bo Bunny Shabby Princess series (garden something) which I loved, stripes, dots, floral and circles, and colours to die for!!!.  Sad cannot get it anymore.  But now I will be able to look at those gorgeous colours every single day in my room.

The box was covered with papers, paint dabbered around all edges, sprayed with Perfect Pearl, ribboned, flowered, fibred, pearled and owled!!!  Oh butterflied too.

I love it.

There are 7 separators with Owl Tabs to keep my colours in their own area.  I have used a label die on the corner of the tab, added the owl (cutie) and finished with some ribbon and cotton string.

I love all those googley eyes looking at me!!

I am really pleased with this finished item and now I should be able to find all those smaller bits of card that used to get lost in the box.
So this is the finished overall photo, yes I think a job well done.

Yes I have lots of yellow at the moment, from making the party boxes a while back.  Might have to start doing yellow honeycomb cards with my newish hexagon die… 🙂
Thanks for calling in, hope you are having a great day!!

Hugs 🙂

Good afternoon,

I just love making embellishments, you have come to know that, but this time I have been making lace and ribbon flowers.

This one is made from grossgrain ribbon that was stitched along the edge on the sewing machine, gathered in and then joined in a circle, lace added to the top of it with hot glue (it’s ok I craft, I have no fingerprints left) and then a lovely bling button put on top.  So pretty.

These two are lace stitched on the machine, gathered to a circle and joined.  Hot glue to add ribbon and a stunning centre.  I love these so much, sometimes I put them on hats or scarves, other times on cards, but mostly I hate to use them because they are so pretty.  I just love to look at them.

Now you know another of my weakenesses.  Oh yes I am a bower bird for bling and pretties…
Thanks for calling in, hope your day is fantastic!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello Everyone!!!

I love boxes and bags and other cute things to hide pressies in.   🙂 So on my wishlist there is several dies for boxes and bags.  Well last week I bought myself one that has been on there forever, this lovely little handbag.  It is a Sizzix XL die by Pinnick….. and I love it!!!

So I had to sit down today in a crafting frenzie and make it up.  It is perfect and the size great too!!! Big enough to hold a good size pressie, or some gift cards, or choccies, how I am going to love making this up for my little friends, as I know they will love it too!!

Now isn’t it the cutest little bag you have seen?? So easy to make with just 3 peices to cut, 2 for the bottom and one for the flap.  I pasted patterned paper onto cardstock for the bottom, because I wanted it a bit sturdier than paper would have made it.

Then I went wild decorating, with a lace border strip, flowers, butterfly and bling, all in pink of course.  The bag itself is held closed with a ribbon through the back and a velcro closure.  🙂  I love the bead handle, so cute.

Thanks for calling in, hope your day is going well.

Hugs 🙂

Making Easy Treats….

Good Afternoon!!
What a wonderful morning at the Williamtown Craft Group this morning, making fun treats!! Our wonderful Maryke brought along wonderful supplies of biscuits, ice cream cones, lollies and icing for us to create lovely lovely treats that could be used for children’s birthday parties, or big people’s parties too, such fun items and I brought some home for my Keith.

How cute are these that Jo made for me, racing cars and cups of tea.  These are all put together with icing, yes that’s right ordinary old cake icing or frosting whatever you want to call it, the sugary sweet stuff….

These racing Teddies are just adorable, and they go so fast!!! Front Teddy already had a little run in and he is in danger of losing his lights, some bumperbar is already lost.  These are wild boys, I tell you!!

And this is the super racer!!!! Speedy is the name of the game for him, he goes so fast and those wheels just become a blur of colour when spinning that fast!!!

And after all that action, I really needed this cup of tea to relax and reflect on a wonderful day at craft!!!
Love it that you called in to see these great, easy to make treats.  Your kids would love them for sure!!

Hugs 🙂

Hello my blog friends, I have been MIA a little lately.  No mojo and getting distracted, so other things are getting in the way.

I had a baby sitting gig last week with two little friends of mine, Sarah and Beth.  Collected them off the school bus (Beth giving me a biggest smile and running to me to hug me when she finally saw me), letting Sarah use the key to gain entry to the house, having afternoon snacks, some crafting, late dinner (learning experience for me – gas stove, microwave cooking, children ‘cooking’ – meaning really watching and telling me what to do), movie night watching Rio, oh my what an exciting life I lead.  I loved it.  Thanks Jo for sharing your treasures with me!!! 🙂

So this is Easter and with a couple of days off I played in the craft room although I really need to tidy it up and get some sort of organisation happening in there!!

So this is what I made with the girls, this one is for Sarah, Beth has hers, it is pink!!

This is just a 2-5-7-10 box made from the tutorials on Splitcoaststampers, and I decorated it with Hello Kitty face, some tabby stripes on body and tail and some lovely little paws.  It is so cute!! Beth was over the moon with hers and wants them for party favour bags for her birthday party in June.  I have asked Sarah to think of what she would like and I will make her bags too.

This did give me a little mojo so I made something little for my neighbour for Easter, she only gets it if she comes visiting…. 🙂

This is made with a Lifestyle Crafts box die (easy peasy) and is perforated along all crease lines.  I really like the design of this box, the handles and the way the box closes at the top.  So I put a belly band on it, inked in pink and green, a decorated rosette sittin on a motif from Moroccan Accents, a nice happy easter, butterfly and flower.  All inked and glittered.  I know Kitty will love it!! 🙂

So while I was on the great roll, I made another handbag just cos I love them.

Woo Hoo how sophisticated is this with the print!! Rollagraph, gotta love them, so easy to make exactly the type of paper wanted for any project.  This is made with the templates I bought from Inking Idaho one of the best $3 I ever spent!!

The top of the bag is mirror board and the handles are black ribbon.  I love these little things, great for popping in a small pressie or a gift card. Gotta love a package you can make yourself ♥♥

Ok, so that’s all folks.  Hope you are having a great Easter and hope my camping friends at the Barringtons are not getting wet feet today!!! 🙂
