I think I am in love with butterflies, yes and I have been doing a little DTP (Direct to Paper) colouring my cardstock to totally co-ordinate. It just makes things so much easier. A long time ago I said that I only needed white paper, now I remember why.
See I am starting to use my dies much more creatively, the digi is matted onto two ornate frame (middle part of cut) pieces placed side by side and the border of the frames creates the white scroll pieces. Dies are from Quickuts Christmas Collection and Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic ovals. This little digi is created by me and it will be offered as a freebie for you to use. I am new to the world of making digis, so let me know if I am up to scratch or not please.
I spent some time a while back experimenting with ribbon and lace flowers with a lot of mixed results. This is one of those flowers made from sheer polka dot ribbon with gold cord behind and beads added to it. I thought it was perfect for this card with the same ribbon threaded through the Fiskars border punch Leave it to Weaver. And a hat pin of course.
Here is a full view of the card with all elements of the border, embossing and embellishments. Looks very delicate and sweet.
Again I have only used the Martha Stewart border punch on part of the background panel. This one is Swirling Lace. This panel is embossed with Swiss Dots by Sizzix, the bottom panel is embossed with Sizzix Autumn leaves by Rachael Bright and DTP inked around the page with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Pastel Pink from the catseye making inking easy. Butterflies are punched. I really need to get a pretty filigree butterfly punch, just a little one.
Thanks for coming to have a look, hope you like it!!
Hugs Lauren ♥♥
