Hello Everyone,
Did you see that today was the launch of the You Can Do It Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers and it is fantastic, lovely new people to corrupt and get to know, lovely new people to learn things from, how awesome is that??? Oh here is the link to the week one challenge
So our Miss Lynn set the first challenge off and running on the theme of handmade flower on your creation. Well how good is that? So I thought I might do a different flower just for fun and everyone is probably sick of me showing up with those same old boring flowers!!
So whatcha think of this????
So this is made with cirles of satin type material and tulle. and fastened together with a brad when done and a little Ice Stickles to give that special glitz!!
The original tutie I saw on this used a heat gun to melt the fabric to make it curl up, but I found that a little unwieldy, so I put a tea light candle into a little glass and heated the edges of my material over the flame. This gave me a break from the heat as it was not outside the glass, and it also gave me perfect control to be able to heat just a little at a time if my circle was uneven.
So here it is, the whole card.
Look Ted is in love with it, he is such a funny little fella, he keeps me company in my craft room and he also is my biggest fan. Bet you all wish you had a boyfriend like him, eh??
I love this simple card, the flower is all the brillance it needs.
Seriously anyone who is papercrafty should be a member over on Splitcoaststampers, it is where you will learn so much, full of tutorials, full of great galleries, full of great people with so much information to share. I remember when I started out papercrafting, there was so little on the net and everything was learned from magazines or books. Really most things were learned by trial and error. Some of my greatest works were arrived at by mistake!!
Well have fun, and make something nice today,
Hugs

Beautiful flower Lauren! I’ve watched a few videos on these flowers and really need to try my hand at one of them….I love it and the card! So very well done!!
